20s futurism

The Tate writes, of early 1900s futurism:

Among modernist movements, futurism was exceptionally vehement in its denunciation of the past. This was because in Italy the weight of past culture was felt as particularly oppressive. In the Manifesto, Marinetti asserted that ‘we will free Italy from her innumerable museums which cover her like countless cemeteries’. What the futurists proposed instead was an art that celebrated the modern world of industry and technology:

We declare…a new beauty, the beauty of speed. A racing motor car…is more beautiful than the Victory of Samothrace. (A celebrated ancient Greek sculpture in the Louvre museum in Paris.)

Futurist painting used elements of neo-impressionism and cubism to create compositions that expressed the idea of the dynamism, the energy and movement, of modern life.

The first world war cooled the ardour of many of these:

Is Covid real?

We've been through the non-approved facts and figures as we know them:

... we can read those things on many blogs and in tweets and gabs.  What I thought I'd do here is say what I truly think about it and invite you to also put what you truly believe.

You see, my Russian mate did go down with something last January which involved the loss of taste, the cough, the rest of it in classic form  - so what was that?  Was it actually this Covid and what is that anyway when it's at home - is it a virus, something else?  I didn't have any of that but did have that radiation aversion some of you might recall.  Two weeks.

We're on safer ground in calling out the scam, the opportunism of govt, the chance of those connected to charlatans making fortunes and giving kickbacks to pollies.

The Rise of the Mutants | underdogs bite upwards (wordpress.com)

Masque

It's been some time, apart from quotes in posts, that I've mentioned my major saga but I'm going to now.

The front page blurb I've just rewritten:

https://nourishingtrilogy.wordpress.com/

... plus the expanded version:

https://wordpress.com/page/nourishingtrilogy.wordpress.com/2

No point repeating those here in this post.  I've been reworking various minor plot anomalies [hundreds] which did not synch with the story arc, along with some grammar and word choices.

For example, in one section where they stow away on a lorry, I'd written it as 'semi', meaning semi-trailer, which is a cultural giveaway. Better calling it an 'artic' in Britain. In Oz, I'd have called it a transport or road transport. Maybe road train.

Point was made in the blurb that the things I was writing which have come to pass in 2020/21 were written into the book in 2006 in Russia.  That is, it was as clear as day even back then how the Great Reset was going to take place - they're sticklers for a plan, those bstds, just like the Germans, which might just see them eventually undone.  One hopes and prays.

I'm not recommending the saga to any gung-ho males who love their sci-fi and gory action adventures, plus their metal and heavy rock - there's too much romantic angst.  Nor would it suit a feminazi or MGTOW because the males and females get along with and work well together.

It would suit those who like historical sagas which note events and how humans react to them.

Dem ole cyber blues

As Vinny Jones said to Avi in Snatch: "That depends on all the elements in the equation."

Which is the same answer I had to give yesterday to my possible new host who, like Chuckles, can only really think in cyber terms and well done to both of them I say. But there still are many elements in this equation and they're not only cyber-logic, logical though cyber-logic is. There are various outside pressures to take into account.

And to the conclusion that I "should just do as I wish, the way I always have done", it's not a case of what any of us wish, it's choosing from the variants that are still available and trying to keep most users of a service reasonably [but sadly, not completely] happy.

There's also the question of money. Anyone who works in the cyber world would laugh at the pittance I was paying and conclude that someone was being very kind to me, which was exactly what was happening. Conversely, anyone on the breadline as I now am would wonder how the hell I could be running two sites such as those we had until Jan 5. It's not just all the elements in the equation, it's also from which perspective one sees things.

Bottom line is how important is it, in the scheme of things, for these two sites to keep going?

In terms of overall influence, probably SFA.  In terms of providing an occasional port for ships out on the political ocean - I'd say it still has its place, just as pubs do, and it does worry me to see the attrition rate in blogs, because Twitter and FB, Instagram etc. are just not the whole answer, as we're seeing.

Now there are two ways you can go in blogs - pay or free. Most go for free of course and let someone like Google take care of the details, including the permitted Woke ideology. No techie thinks that way, I'm about halfway and we've gone the pay way, which by-and-large was trouble free but it was almost completely manual, i.e. what you put in was what readers saw and used.

The very strange case of Distant Relative and moderation

A situation has arisen with Blogger which is weird to say the least and its wider implications need to be looked at carefully.  Distant Relative's last comments at N.O. were on this post:

And these were them - note the timestamps:

Music from the long book

Closing in on 5 p.m., no music planned, weary, falling asleep, have been redacting parts of the book for spelling and grammar but also for anomalies - what to do in a few minutes for music?

I know, play some of the songs from the book:

That's the name of the first chapter of my long book [sidebar], so why not apply it here?

My town appears in this long video but if you'd like to see Russia as she is [outside the train I mean], then this is not half bad, apart from the mispronunciation and factual errors, e.g. about the rivers Moskva and Volga.

Friday notes [1]

There are a few online matters which need reorganising in in the light of various Damoclean swords over us; I also need to gather and point to links from diverse places so that our work together is not lost; lastly there are the matters for today, Friday itself.

Online matters

1. We're currently on open commenting, with me not far away to moderate and already I've been asked for clarification on this 'comment deleting' thing which I seemed to threaten yesterday.

Also, opening comments like this [where the current day is open but comments one day old and older are moderated] has been accompanied by a drop in regulars, e.g. Ripper, DR, Andy, other chaps and chapesses.  It may be down to flu season or security questions, it might be down to something the tech giants are up to, we can't know without feedback.

Nothing has changed in policy here - we present the same 'deplorable' view of how things are, we call things out as before. But there do exist trolls, both to the site and to me personally, ranging from matters from long ago through to the current day.

So, for example, if we present a view which says there is election fraud in the States, then we're not interested here in someone gainsaying that there was no fraud at all and biden won fair and square, because he didn't, at least not without a lot of jiggery-pokery. There are anomalies, let's say. We're also anti-mask, anti-vaxx, anti-lockdown, anti-climate scam, anti-Wokery.

There are literally millions of sites for the other Woke view, not here. That's it.

The Usurpation - curiouser and curiouser

Again courtesy Rossa’s mother who has not given up:

... he wasn't inaugurated yesterday, that's why I couldn't see it live on Newsmax, because they did it the day before and at the wrong time, it's getting better and better. Then read about dissolving the Corporation which was done 18 months ago and they actually filed for bankruptcy and all the assets are to be given to the real republic.  This is why the mil is still there, there was also a pic of b in the "oval office" with T walking past the window and a car parked outside, which is totally verboten so not the real one. No wonder the spaniards saw it 11 hours before we did.

Add to that the 30 days before any EOs come into force. More in a few mins, need to get to the computer.

Clean Up Philly

  1. Why was the inauguration pre-recorded?
  2. Why did Biden not get to use AF1 and still can't?
  3. Why did the WH refuse to fly the flag?
  4. Why did the Military refuse to hand Biden the nuke football?
  5. Why was the weather shown during the infrauduration completely unlike the real weather at the time in DC, as residents noted? It was not bright and sunny in DC on Jan. 20, 2021, but it was on Jan 19, 2021.

Not so much a quiz ...

 ... as a questionnaire:

Excuse his spelling.  Anyway, what think you? In terms of who caused the most damage for Britain - does this mean Britain plc or Britain, the island folk?

A post for the sake of doing one mid-afternoon

In a state of 'down-ed-ness' rather than gloom at this point, feeling the need to give readers a lift of some kind, the word of the moment for me is 'abandonment', which of course has biblical overtones.

Good then that Rossa's mother should send this:

Good news - any EOs he signs don't become enforceable for 30 days, plenty of time for the mil to do it's job.

https://gab.com/FreeThePlanet/posts/105594208249287092

Also worth reading the link to the Marshall Plan report!!

Great. The only case I can make, without looking at that, having lost all interest, is that with no powers, DJT is operating from MaL via the military and remember that the court hearings miraculously start after the usurpation is done, which is now.

Unless the military, now officially under Biden and with the top brass in his pocket, really have taken control, I see no way that any court is going to reverse what it has done until now. However, let's keep forlorn hope alive, shall we?

The whole thing over there I can put aside - what I find it difficult to put aside is people I thought were onside with conservative libertarianism spewing anti-Trump, anti-MAGA and more importantly, anti-Deplorable guff on blogs, seemingly oblivious to what all this means.  They'll know when the crash comes.

However, let's all stay cheerful, eh?  By the way, RM said that Heels Up rested her hand on a clutch bag on the bible. Not sure she it is actually satanist, definitely commie though.

Le Tour Eiffel

Not sure why this should come back to mind but I was trying to remember what it was really like within its guts, so to speak, and it seems it has much changed on the first floor - this is the journey to the second and back:

Getting to the third floor:

https://www.wonders-of-the-world.net/Eiffel-Tower/Third-floor.php

To access the 3rd floor, you have no choice: You will have to take the elevator. Indeed it's been years that the staircase has been condemned for everyday use, our day it serves only as an emergency exit. You must take the ticket on the ground floor, it must include the climb to the top, otherwise it is a standard ticket only allowing the climb to the 2nd. When you're in 2nd, I think you will not be able to buy tickets for the summit, it will be too late.

4. Antifa, report via Reader Bob

If you haven't already seen it, type in antifa.com and it goes straight to the Whitehouse website! Weeks back, antifa.com led to the Dem's Biden campaign website. If ever there was proof of who owns the Whitehouse, there it is.

Britain’s era of shame?

From which year can it be dated?

We have to look at Heath, the scumbag, possibly those before him, Wilson was a communist, Blair/Brown we’ve all written so much on, ad nauseam, Maastricht was one of the worst days of shame but not universally known as such back then, the Lisbon Treaty was a shocker, the expenses scandal and the Chipmunk, Gordo’s gold, the theft of South Thanet from Farage, the SNP lowlifes, Dolphin Square, Rotherham, Rochester, paedo-orphanages, care home abuse, the three Withdrawal Agreements, four years to do anything about Brexit after the vote, HS2, the Somerset Levels, anything I’ve missed?  Probably heaps. Call Me Dave loves pigs. Leftist too.

So incompetent.  The accession, probably theft, by the Khan mob, Theresa May was a scandal all by herself - evil, leering cow.  Utter trash on the other side, from Abbott to Phillips to athornberry to Lammy and so on.  Illuminist Starmer following commie-in-chief Corbyn, the two brothers, what were their names? Millipede?  One liked hamburgers and had two kitchens. Harbag, Hewitt and PIE.

Before the covid scam, what else was there?  Obviously the invaders en masse across the channel and stupid kids with refugees-welcome signs, the BBC a scandal in its own right, Boulton and all the MSM, the shocking state of journalism, what else?

Tommy Robinson treatment, Brittany and Martin treatment, Plod’s general behaviour, Common Purpose, wheelie-bin crime.

On the other hand, apart from the two ceremonies either end, the 2012 Olympics seemeed goodish to me. NHS treatment for me at least was pretty darned good until covid, then fell apart. Call Me’s actual referendum.  Some sporting successes.

I see this more as an open thread, as about 5/8 of readers are from here, so you can speak with authority on the matters.

Says it all

So tough for a soldier:

Most forces personnel seem to be in a quandary in a western society which increasingly questions things and it comes back to lions led by donkeys.  It was a huge dilemma for me back in the day.  I don’t know exactly why there are not more mutinies, looking back.  In officer training, we didn’t think much of privations such as sleeping on stone floors as we made do and were young enough - sometimes too easy to forget at this age we are now.

Through the decades

Maybe we start young:

But we get older:

America's Day of Shame [continued]

18:37

Let’s bring this rotten day to a close.  The one I feel closest to is Vox, who made a number of acerbic comments across several posts.  Example:

It's hard to comprehend that President Trump is willing to allow all of this to happen to the people about whom he obviously cares so much, and to the nation that he loves. He still has 17 minutes left, but at this point, it's hard to blame anyone who believes his courage failed him in the end.

Methinks a large part of it was Javanka and Melania - the former were snakes, the latter a leftist through and through, just as the Carries of this world are.  A rare creature to find is a sane, unnobbled woman of principle, not brainwashed by the Woke.  I know a few and of course, there are many on social media, thank the Lord.

The most sickening part is those on our side making excuses or reverting to this "let’s all move on, what’s done is done".  No way known, this is criminal theft by paedos and druggies, unprincipled people.  There is NO moving on, zero.  I’ve just blocked and blacklisted about ten people and shall keep doing it, so was pleased to see Vox doing the same and what's more - naming them. He's a bridge-burner like me is young Vox.

You see, in order to come together in unity, the miscreants must first go through the standard sequence:

  1. Remorse
  2. Atonement
  3. Redemption
  4. Closure

If that’s genuine, then they can be forgiven and the one forgiving does not then do as Demonrats do and keep on battering and cheating the fallen, he ceases, desists, he says. "Well let’s speak no more about it."

But we’re lightyears from that stage, people, there is not the slightest remorse from these lowlifes, just chortling glee.

Wednesday

9. Martin Scriblerus

Bill Sticker writes:

Just having a scroll down the Scriblerus blog list and note that a few went offline. James Higham, arguably the Godfather of the group has retreated to Blogspot, as has Orphans of Liberty. Scribblings from Seaham is completely AWOL. Demetrius at Cynical Tendency hasn’t posted in well over a year, likewise Tim Newman. Raedwald died. Our original number shrinks. Some lost interest, others simply drifted away like ghostly ships, vanishing over the horizon.

I'm concerned about David Phipps, I'll DM him and see if he's about, hope it's not more attrition.  Suppose we'd best look at it again - the concept is sound, it's by invitation of the group, not by me but as Bill points out, we need to keep going as bloggers.

Thus dear reader, you can be assured that this blogs febrile and occasionally satirical ravings will continue, even if I’m just shouting into my own little bucket.

Yep, it's been a tough couple of years. I'll get onto this tomorrow morning, still setting up this blog today.

15:27: Right, have written to David and he's replied, he's ok.

8. Housekeeping - That little experiment

From Noon to 13:00, we ran captcha, now back to moderation. You, the reader - your eyes are on your home things, the US developments, your own blogs and projects, not on this little experiment here.

However, your feedback would help.  So far, I see bloggers who themselves use captcha at their sites favouring that and eschewing moderation, those using moderation favouring that, eschewing captcha. We are in danger of falling into two camps, exactly what I did not want.  Bloody Blogspot.

America's Day of Shame

... and also that of the world.

Wednesday, 05:11

Before getting to the part which really mortifies me - the young - a look at the detested Twitter, even to the now less than trustworthy Tucker.  It's not that Tucker says this, it's how he says it - it really should appear on youtube or bitchute:

Almost live report on nothing

... happening in Washington DC.

As we 'enjoy' this balmy, rainy, night weather of 54F or 12C this side of the pond, a video by Josh Philipp shows the nothingness of the whole usurperfest tomorrow.  He reports that dark was falling, the streaming began about 20:30 over there.

First thing for us is that the Donald gave his farewell speech from the WH and there's apparently another tomorrow in Florida.  It does look as though he's given up and I wonder how much Melania had to do with that.  He'll pardon a hundred or so and declassify more files most like but that's all it looks like being.

Shall be delighted if it's anything more.

Variation on la Folia

Quiz Thursday, the insanity tomorrow evening, this madness just now:

Voices of Music

First review on making this blog workable

 Comments

The major issue with Blogger from the reader's vantage point. What about a hybrid system?

  1. Moderation as default
  2. Captcha at certain times
  3. Open when I'm around and compost mentis?

In order of danger level, open is the worst for bots and other nasties like trolls, captcha might stop many bots but still lets through trolls. Moderation is the safest, as DR found.

In order of pain-in-the-neckedness for readers [which include me], open is best, the other two of a muchness, though Ivan and others cannot have any captcha. I'm going to look at timestamps of your comments and see if there are patterns, try to work out a system which reduces the punch-the-screen factor for all of us.

Anonymous

Still not sure what this is from your end and from mine, and from Blogger's - why it's such a big deal.  Vox Day deletes any anonymous comments, won't allow them, I'd obviously prefer you to at least use your usual moniker, our readers need that too in order to reply.  Steve and DR have used Anon or Unknown is designated by Blogger but they appended their monikers/names. That's fine for me but does not help in the sidebar gadget where it's been reduced to no excerpts, i.e. we don't know which Anon. I get the feeling Anon is a big deal to Blogger but am not sure why.

5. Walls

Jordan Rachel

Trump and Biden are both for walls, they each put one up around what they want to protect. Trump put up the wall around America and Biden put up the wall around the government.

4. Scotland

J. R. Tomlin:

A little reminder that Scotland does NOT run a deficit. The Scottish government is not allowed to issue bonds or to do quantitative easing. Thiis makes running a deficit impossible. The only deficit is run by Westminster part of which they choose to attribute to Scotland.

Scots Subrosa:

You omitted the fact that the Scottish government has borrowing powers though. Of course there’s a deficit. Anyone who knows basic bookkeeping would know that.

3. Shape of things to come

Production meeting for a Bond movie

A: Comrades, welcome. Now we need to decide on this new film, OHMSS.  Yes, B?'

B: There's a gignormous international conference in a clinic in America and they plan an epidemic:

C: Make it a medical research place, say Johns Hopkins -

B: Good and we run it in, say, October and they say it's just looking at scenarios to circumvent and things will be back to normal in weeks -

A [coughs]: We can't actually run that, B, there are reasons I can't ... er ... go into just now.

B: But it's so far-fetched, A, no one in a million years will buy that it's less than fantasy.

A: [coughs again] B, just look at this if you would [hands the article across].

Officials in the state of Saxony — which is experiencing one of the worst outbreaks in the European nation — have already approved plans to hold quarantine-breakers in a fenced-off section of a refugee camp, the Telegraph saidAnother state, Brandenburg, also plans to use a section of a refugee camp.

In Schleswig-Holstein, repeat offenders will be kept in a special area in a juvenile detention center, the report said, citing Germany’s Welt newspaperThe state of Baden-Württemberg has two hospitals with rooms to hold the scofflaws, which will be guarded by police, the report said.

Kids without a clue

Back in my early headmasterish days, the older breed would recount tales of when they were at school, of how they'd escape from the dorm window, slide down and head off for a wicked smoke and [gasp] even some alcohol.

Then there was what Evelyn Waugh wrote, what Agatha Christie wrote about how girls 'slouched these days', reminiscences to the effect that they were all so naughty, yet there was still an innocence to it, deep down. Then in my yoof, similar substances, similar shenanigans before we had to be home by a certain hour - there was the dad factor to contend with.

There were definitely feckless kids around, gangs, there was one particular housing estate we'd avoid, there were authority figures we'd be cheeky to and run away, we'd put nails on the railway tracks. But the core values were still there, not because dad lectured us at home but because every which way you turned, there were certain things ... well ... you just observed. The messages were universal.

Mid 90s in London and I saw a new crop who were anything but that - surly, inarticulate, utterly without respect, a priori, irrespective of how they were treated. Back again in the late 2000s and my first day home - attacked by a yob who felt I was in his way at the tube train - the thing which stayed with me was how completely out of control he was and the eyes were drugged, beady, but at least he did not pull a knife. Sometime later near where I live now, shopping centre, gaggle of girls bumping people, plus me. 'Do you mind?' I said, they swung around and made to attack as a pack, don't know what stopped them, maybe the look you need to give snarling dogs - but those couple of minutes said so much about what it was like now.

Orphans of Liberty disappeared an hour ago

This was always going to happen sooner or later, following the loss of Chuckles ... it turned out to be sooner rather than later.

We are still blogging from here:

The jazz we missed last evening

OHMSS

The elements of a blockbuster film have oft been mulled over and I was thinking about the Bond movies on a grand scale - they have to be the ones on a grand scale with exotic locations, with a real sense of the era, the time, most certainly romance which does not get too "James! James!"

Location and score, bevy of beauties:

11. This will count ... or it will not

In the letter (pdf), Ratcliffe alleges that intelligence about China’s election interference was suppressed by management at the CIA, which pressured analysts to withdraw their support for the view.

Or:

Those things hardly need going over again by us, but by courts with impartial judges. Where is one of those to be found, let alone a bench of judges? Answer of course is they can’t be found.

Much has been made of whether DJT does more than issue pardons, whether the number of troops is for one last glimmer of hope, even triumph, for the American people.  I’m making no call on that, how can any of us know?

We know many ifs - if he does not do anything, if he just departs, if satan’s spawn do actually take all branches, do walk in and soil the WH ... many ifs.

Still working out this very difficult way to post and edit they've inflicted on us for no good reason - it's rubbish compared to what we had.  Things will get more normal - The New Normal - as we go along but it's going to take a while to get back to Chuckles's level. Patience, dear reader.

Moderation is working so far, might go to captcha during night time shut-eye, moderation back on after waking. Downside so far is no 'recent comments' gadget, no 'recent posts gadget'.  I understand why - it's a portal for naughty bots but bleedin' annoying for you and for me. Also, I don't like commentcount below post, not above. Way around it is always put in 'Read More'.

When all other means fail

Blonde has reappeared after having a baby, with some lawyer and his angle is that if the unthinkable happens in two days and there was no plan after all, then the next steps need to be started:

Next steps, in his view, involve secession and while he makes some good points about how touting the constitution has got America precisely nowhere because the miscreants, at best, simply flout it for their own ends, culminating, I’d add, in this shameful spectacle in DC in two days, then the entire system is very much in question.

This is a very dangerous game for anyone to be playing, for a criminal organisation has now gone public, showing how they flout every principle and rule in order to overthrow the US of A.  Not for li’l ole me here to trot out again what the Founding Fathers were about, how it was hijacked, corrupted, at inception and at stages along the way, e.g. Dixie and the Bank of the USA, e.g. the Roosevelt T anti-Trust acts.

This blog is once more nourishing obscurity

It's with great sadness that I must announce again that the silent partner in nourishing obscurity and its techie, Chuckles, died of a heart attack on January 5th.  Since that time, NOUK has been on borrowed time, regulars have known that and I hope you will continue with us here.

We’ll moot different ideas over the next months but for now, we’re going with comment moderation, which is on, we’ll run that for awhile.  First comments are already up, I get pings when someone comments.

I’d say it might not be wise to go to NOUK for now - I left a farewell, this address and switched off comments, plus logged out.

So here we are and welcome.  Developments in how this blog will now run - the nuts and bolts minutiae, will appear and be added to below the Read More line.

Woke capitalism

The theme of this topic at Ammodotcom is in the url:

https://ammo.com/articles/woke-capitalism-how-huge-corporations-demonstrate-status-by-endorsing-political-radicalism

... but they’re quick to add:

This isn’t to say that there is a massive Gramscian conspiracy with thousands of members. Such a thing would be completely impossible to prove or disprove. However, the kernel of the idea has taken root, in part thanks to bona fide promotion in academia, and in part because it simply seems to have largely been a successful operation.

Yes and no.  There is most certainly a huge push by the UN and EU and it has certain ideas embedded - one is the replacement of Europeans in Europe [remember, the above was written by an American so he's not completely au fait with this, though he has his own illegals issue over there], another is depopulation of those very non-Caucasians being herded in, plus the elderly, plus any other non-Aryan unproductives in their eyes, plus the corruption and sexual enslavement of children and I don't just mean the paedo cabal - I mean the twisting of kids' values in schools and colleges, plus the breakdown in parenting.

It's an article from a Bank of Oklahoma attendee:

1. BOK Center holds at least 19,000. The area outside the convention center set up by the Secret Service and Tulsa PD had a U-shaped squeeze shoot to funnel the crowd down to an area about. 50 feet wide and 600 feet long with an outdoor stage adjacent to the BOK entrance.Trump was supposed to be able to speak to the overflow group from this stage.

2. Entry to the “Secure Area” NOT the BOK center was about 5 blocks away where you had to pass “screeners” who took your temperature, made you put on a face mask and gave you a green band to proceed to Secret Service Security.

3. If the temperature screeners left their post- the entire entry to the BOK Trump rally was shut down.

4. And that is EXACTLY what happened today about an hour after we got through security.

It's only words

Via haiku

Merriam-Webster, the venerable dictionary publisher, announced two weeks ago that it would update its definition of the word "racism" in response to a request by a 22-year-old woman from Missouri.

But company officials hastened to say that they would do so in line with their long-standing commitment to political neutrality and to the "real-world usage of a word," rather than trying to "promote any particular viewpoint". In other words, there would be no slant, no bias, no subtle editorialising in the revised definition.

That's what Merriam-Webster is trying for with all the words in its dictionary. But it's not always easy. Going back centuries, there have been disputes about bias in dictionary definitions. And in today's politicised world - where the recent trending words in Merriam-Webster online searches have included "fascism," "antifa," "loot," "defund," "no quarter," "white supremacist," "curfew" and "anarchy" - how could the company not feel battered, like the rest of us, by the bitter differences of opinion that divide the country?

Steel yourself

These things have always fascinated me:

How they're made:

Time in the sun

Nothing to report on the cyber front but that's because I think we're all busy.  I found some interesting things in town, speaking with the usual Everymans and Everywomans [sic] but have to say it's a different clientele.

The drivers are dissident Labour, the shoppers there local well-to-do and may I introduce another term now - 'artificeless and nice'.  Not artless - different other animal, just artificeless.

However, as with almost all in the UK, their reality, unless of a certain age, is Sky news and the BBC, C4, talk radio.  This lot today would be Telegraph readers [those at ASDA Guardian readers, if they read at all].

Topics brought up by the drivers were Covid and BLM but they were shy about mentioning BLM - don't know why, as we're straight Anglo-Saxon here, a bit of Celt mixed in.  I put out feelers and there was no pushback - disgusted by the kneeling of Plod and footballers, disgusted by the statue-o-clasty.

They were reading me, rightly or wrongly, as someone who might know, and so wanted to discuss these things.  One said it's all lies but when I asked which lies, he said about Cv, also so many things he sees on tele and it's just wrong.  Glad to see that people are saying this in a whisper.

Hope you're in training for this

5.  In a nutshell

https://pjmedia.com/tatler/2011/12/02/dropping-the-a-bomb-on-history-n157427

Anyone who still doubts that the madness currently possessing American universities matters to society at large should take a stroll through today’s Smithsonian. The Institution has been transformed by a wholesale embrace of the worst elements of America’s academic culture. The staples of cutting-edge academic “research”-smirking irony, cultural relativism, celebration of putative victims, facile attacks on science-are all thriving in America’s premier museum and research complex, its showcase to itself and to the world. The changes at the Smithsonian are not unique to that institution. Museums across the country have rushed headlong into what may be called the “new museologv;’ based on a mindless parroting of academic fads. But the Smithsonian’s embrace of postmodern theory and identity politics is of greatest import, because of the Institution’s contribution to America’s public identity.

Evening notes

This is being posted at both NO [the site with the river header] and ONO [the site with the foliage].

Two hosts and a former host have been suggesting things it might be, things to check, meanwhile I've been ditching extraneous things, reinstalling, changing passwords and so on.  As one of the techies mentioned - easy enough to diagnose with patience and a process of elimination, much more difficult to fix.

And that's where all this is right now.  Yes - I can make certain asymmetric moves which get me into my site after the third or fourth attempt, sometimes the first and yes, it does seem to be no longer a time issue inside but rather tasks attempted [as in three will see me shut out], also going from task to task over there is taking about the same time as it did - about 20 seconds before a page comes up after clicking - that's been so for a few years now.  Longest I had to wait was around 40 seconds.

So it is possible to post once past the barriers and before MS shuts me down but is it worth it?  Truly?  As for comments, I had them on earlier but could not attend to them for the simple reason I could not even get to see the front page - barriers, barriers.  Someone or something is clearly doing this.

Try these

1.  Only letter not in the periodic table?
2.  Difference between coffins and caskets?
3.  What's significant about Witwatersrand?
4.  What does the acronym IKEA stand for?
5.  Youngest Pope elected/appointed ever?
6.  Who funds GPS?
7.  Only country in the world named after a woman?

All the children are insane

Lost in a Roman wilderness of painAnd all the children are insaneAll the children are insaneWaiting for the summer rain, yeah

The theme of the previous political post [before the boat post] was what is actually happening.  This one looks at why two groups do as they do.

Starting with the Z Man:

One thing that seems to be true of all civilizations that are in crisis is they have a period in which the laws are no longer respected by the people in power. It is not exactly a period of lawlessness, as in chaos. That certainly does happen when the crisis reaches the point when the official authority can no longer project power. Before that, there is a time when the people charged with enforcing the laws simply stop doing it on a consistent basis. The law becomes arbitrary and selective.

Further down:

Boat things

Nothing's altered except the fwd sail ... the image is not up to scratch but that's the fault of the diagram, my original, which has seen so much tweaking, it's starting to go through the paper. However, you can get a rough idea.

Aiming at around 540 sq feet all up, also wanting to keep mast height under 20 feet, given my shallow draft, this can be done by three identical lugs of 180 sq ft, but they involve taller masts.

Or else the fwd sail needs to be larger.  I'm not keen on running the aft sail larger, as in a schooner, as there's no area fwd of the bow to balance it.

The pollies are now taking the p***

We're unfortunately in this position where we can do nothing ourselves to stop it but these people above have definitely gone beyond the pale and are now extracting the micturation - it's the most polite way I can put it:

UK Prepared to Accept Tariffs as Price for Diverging from EU Standards: Report

The pressure on decent people to walk off their jobs and march on somewhere or someone is intense.  The PTB are cowards, knowing old people can't very well form an army which could shift these politicians and place-people in key posts throughout the land.

Nor can working people who must look after their families and their livelihoods - all very well for those on benefits, where everyday is a breeze.

If we ever have another election, which I doubt, I'll not be voting Tory, Labour, LibDem, Green or any shape or form of the cucks and the left.

.......

.......

I've posted this as well at OoL, plus at the old site and have turned comments partially on [meaning regular commenters].  If it works and I can continue to get in, then it might save us from more drastic action.  Watching closely.

4.  Bring it on

https://www.unz.com/jderbyshire/look-on-the-bright-side-blm-revolution-may-eat-its-parents-too-starting-with-mark-zuckerberg/

Apparently the authorities in Chaz were immensely flattered to see themselves being compared to French Revolutionaries. Now, a thing everyone knows about the French Revolution—even, I guess, the drug-addled, low-IQ, miseducated rabble running Chaz—a thing everyone knows is that the revolutionaries chopped off the heads of the former ruling class, including the king and queen, with the guillotine.

Don't moan, act!

I'm assuming he's not just sitting back moaning:

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/06/22/donald-trump-2020-mail-in-2020-ballots-scandal-times/

I'm hoping he actually has people on the ground who are on his side and can move to stop these ballots under some anti-fraud EO.

He may be waiting to see what happens in November but to my mind, that's too late. If they win it, the Rats, then he is not in a good place for ordering any investigation.

The Rats know they're doing it, nothing he says will change that, so what's the point of telling supporters how rotten the DemRats are?  What can the people do, except turn out in large numbers or start a civil war?

Risky, especially if Cv part two descends.

11 p.m. notes

Just ‘checking in’ so to speak, out like a light about 8 p.m., awake now, realised there was a task to get over and approve comments.  I really do NOT like doing this to readers, as if I’m some tinpot high-up ... it’s not the nature of this blog at all, I simply don’t accept it.

But equally, I do know how horrible Blgr comment captcha is and most of the time, the blogger him or herself has no idea that ggl are presenting panel after panel at his readers, spotting the traffic lights or zebra crossings or buses.  Truly ... does Blgr think this is right to do to people?  Grrrrr.

Have a relaxing evening, chaps and chapesses

Magnetic amplifier

From Chuckles:

By the 1950s, the magnetic amplifier was not just an experimental dream languishing in some inventor’s notebook. Nor was this ingenious technology sitting unexploited in patent archives. The mag amp was in manufacture in a number of versions and had a clique of boosters, including many electronics engineers, especially within the US Navy.

15.  Reader feedback please

I really need to know, please, how your access to comments is going. Some said it was causing them grief, others said it was OK.  Have you found a way in here which would overcome your 'couldn't be a**ed' mental mode at this time?

The other site is not right at this time, still not getting access except by overcoming giants still, no way to handle it. If comments are on over there and I'm shut out, you can imagine the chagrin for your humble blogger.

The overhauls continue at this end.

6.  They refuse to fade away

Midnight notes

We might be close to finding a solution, a bitsy solution to be sure but a solution is a solution, as long as it keeps working.  More work to do tomorrow on my part, so shall be here at least until the quiz tomorrow.

Sadly, to those commenting - if I go to bed soon, I cannot approve comments, so they'll have to wait until the morn.  Downside of this Blogger site.

Along the way, I discovered something quite interesting.  I checked my Google account security on my ipad and among other things, it listed four devices which had accessed the account yesterday and today.  One was this laptop I'm on now, another was the laptop I was on yesterday and they checked out fine.

However, it listed my current device - that is, the ipad I was on - as a Mac and not just that but it was from my local area.  Thing was - I was not on a Mac, I was on an ipad.  There was a fourth device called an ipad UK, no local area.  I did not touch the laptops as they were fine but I signed out of both the Mac and ipad.

Again at the laptop, Google listed two devices now - both the laptops.  Good.  I now changed passwords.

Going back to my one and only ipad, I signed in and it showed as ipad UK, nothing local.  So what was this Mac?  I did have a Mac years ago but it has not been used and Google say that this Mac was currently being used.  I have the IP address of it and it's not mine.

So this has been my fun evening, hope yours was as rivetting.

Sunday and all that jazz

The Original Dixieland Jazz Band, who were the originals in every way, reunited in 1936 under the name "The Original Dixieland Five".  Label: "His Master's Voice".

I must put text between songs, otherwise Blgr removes the song.

3 p.m. notes

Looking at this 'which N.O.' biz, WPdotorg is clearly the only true blogger platform at this time, and then only because of a 'classic editor' plug-in but the bulls of bashan are closing in on bloggers nonetheless.

Interesting from haiku is this, with him saying, 'Dream on, no it isn't':

https://tech.slashdot.org/story/20/06/20/2322233/largest-distributed-peer-to-peer-grid-on-earth-laying-foundation-for-a-decentralized-internet

The only problem with the net from a blogging perspective is the bstds controlling the platforms and their useless script-kiddies who can get nothing right at all.  The aim is to have us happily blogging and tweeting about innocuous things, under tight control - remember two-tier internet?

My neighbour is a perfect example of Everyman.  If you stand midway between our two doors, on my side is a furious war for civilisation going on but for how long?  I had a phone call about such things with my mate earlier, the phone went dead.

On his side, Everyman, through his door, his reality is Sky and BBC, I told him about those two excrescences, plus he has some handheld electronic game, plus his family calling.  He knows what we've discovered, he doesn't pooh-pooh it, he just doesn't know the history and how the war is happening, and doesn't really want to know, though he's polite about it.

HCQ

Check this out:

https://www.ukcolumn.org/article/the-hydroxychloroquine-scandal

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has, so far, held a number of discussions with Bill and Melinda Gates about the COVID-19 crisis. On 4 June, the UK government hosted the GAVI vaccine alliance Replenishment Summit in London. The Gates Foundation gave GAVI $1.2 billion in 2019 and was among its founding partners. It has contributed more than $4.1Bn to GAVI during its two decade long mission to create "healthy markets for vaccines."

Getting embarrassing now:

Should have some vaccine on COVID-19 by early 2021: WHO chief scientist Soumya Swaminathan

UK Column, for those who don't remember, was a key player in the exposing of CP years ago.  I'd look at it quite carefully.  We're in the area here of plausible deniability again.  Quite a strategy.  Take the nurses who administered way over the dosage of HCQ the wrong way, not combined with other clinically determined treatments which many doctors have done carefully and successfully.

Those nurses killed those patients.  The PR value is immeasurable but the bottom line is that that was murder.  The one who gave the go ahead for that mix to be administered in a piecemeal way committed, at a minimum, manslaughter.

There are some very bad people controlling our lives at this moment, they're insane, psychopathic, they are working to an agenda.

[H/T Chuckles and haiku]

Sunday too

14.  In the light of this

... having run out of time last evening:

... yes, what exactly did you eat last evening, readers, and what have you planned for Sunday dinner?  Photos please.
