Time in the sun

Nothing to report on the cyber front but that's because I think we're all busy.  I found some interesting things in town, speaking with the usual Everymans and Everywomans [sic] but have to say it's a different clientele.

The drivers are dissident Labour, the shoppers there local well-to-do and may I introduce another term now - 'artificeless and nice'.  Not artless - different other animal, just artificeless.

However, as with almost all in the UK, their reality, unless of a certain age, is Sky news and the BBC, C4, talk radio.  This lot today would be Telegraph readers [those at ASDA Guardian readers, if they read at all].

Topics brought up by the drivers were Covid and BLM but they were shy about mentioning BLM - don't know why, as we're straight Anglo-Saxon here, a bit of Celt mixed in.  I put out feelers and there was no pushback - disgusted by the kneeling of Plod and footballers, disgusted by the statue-o-clasty.

They were reading me, rightly or wrongly, as someone who might know, and so wanted to discuss these things.  One said it's all lies but when I asked which lies, he said about Cv, also so many things he sees on tele and it's just wrong.  Glad to see that people are saying this in a whisper.

I gave him a burst of that October conference, Gates, Ferguson, Fauci, the rest, he did not demur, also nice to hear.

People in the queue [line] were chirpy - ladies were wanting to chat, quite on edge if they could not, no 'politics' but the overall view was that Cv was coming back in September, so enjoy the sun now.

Disgusted with Johnson.  What was he doing with all this unrest, killings, rapes, boat people, who the hell was this Antifa etc.  So yes, it did get political.

Bottom line was that people are starting to - or at least becoming more open about - rejecting the Narrative but as one of the chaps said today - too uneducated about these things and too frightened to say or do anything, at the same time - totally disgruntled.

No one really minded the queues because it was more room to shop inside but one lady asked why are we queueing now and once we're inside, everyone's up next to everyone?  Nods all round, eyes to heaven.

I was asked who this cabal was, he'd heard the words 'deep state'.  I explained it was the 1% who the left were always on about, in cahoots with communists such as Antifa and BLM, plus those in govt., plus Plod, plus judges.  I mentioned crony capitalism.

Yep, that's what he thought.  I mentioned that Putin is just as controlled as any of  'em, Johnson is completely controlled.  I mentioned Momentum and asked if he knew it was the same crowd as Chatham House?  Call Me Dave and Corbyn could live side by side in comfort.

I also said that if this conversation between us was recorded, Plod could come and arrest us for 'hate speech'.  They won't - they just want the option of.

Also did my shopping and it was good.  Lunch ready in five minutes, must get to the oven.

  1. Nice people.Sounds like a nice town.
Perhaps they feel that they live in a society where everything is recorded and at some time in future will be used in evidence against them.
And it will not matter if is all acceptable now,in future the criteria will change, and what is now acceptable will become abominable.

  2. Good to see more folks are seeing the light. 95% of those we encountered in the supermarket today were maskless, including the lasses behind the tills. Of those masked, a couple were elderly and the rest were the brainwashed young. It is only a matter of time until the masked start passing out with this heatwave.

  3. It seems that you enjoyed a nice trip into town. My local baker reopened this week. I adore their fruit cake so much that I nearly cried when they closed. The young girl serving me was evidently pleased to be back. What surprised me was her genuine agreement with my comments. After saying how glad to see them open I asked if she thought that this was an overreaction. Yes, she said, and then went on to say why she thought so. This from a bright teenager gave me quite a start. That was so encouraging, there's hope yet.
