Le Tour Eiffel

Not sure why this should come back to mind but I was trying to remember what it was really like within its guts, so to speak, and it seems it has much changed on the first floor - this is the journey to the second and back:

Getting to the third floor:

To access the 3rd floor, you have no choice: You will have to take the elevator. Indeed it's been years that the staircase has been condemned for everyday use, our day it serves only as an emergency exit. You must take the ticket on the ground floor, it must include the climb to the top, otherwise it is a standard ticket only allowing the climb to the 2nd. When you're in 2nd, I think you will not be able to buy tickets for the summit, it will be too late.

When we went there, we must have bought the ground to second ticket, thinking we could buy the third. I wouldn't put it past myself to have deliberately done that to avoid the height and glad it happened because the second was enough for me after a restaurant lunch on the 1st.  One memory is that there was almost no one about on the second, which seems bizarre but I do vaguely recall memory the lift to the third being closed.

About that apartment at the top:

Here are some other shots.

First floor restaurant - might be a new one, ours was a bit different, yet in rows like this, think our shots are still with her:

Third floor lower I think:
