Golden opportunity to defend another religion against Christianity.
The government of the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh has banned the propagation of other religions in the holy places of Hindus across the state. The authorities say the move is to ensure that Hindu sentiments in holy places are not offended.
It follows a row over alleged Christian missionary activity around a shrine in the town of
Precisely. The Christians have no right to enter the holy precincts and try to propagate Christianity. It doesn't need it. This blog has absolutely no problem with any Muslim site in

However, where one religion comes in, razes another's churches to the ground and builds its own on top of the site, that's beyond the pale. That needs opposing in a big way but not by violence.
Yes! One would think after the entire Crusades fiasco that there would be some sensibilities in the Muslim countries where it is also ILLEGAL to recruit members to religions other than Islam, but noooooo. In India when I lived there it was annoying to see the missionaries offer food with one hand but only if one took their Bible in the other. There are many Christian people in many places doing fine work but this is not an example of it.
ReplyDeleteFunny world where giving food to the hungry is not fine work.
ReplyDeleteYes they wanted the hungry to take a Bible, but amazing thing, they didn't make anyone convert and if you did, Christianity ALLOWS you to leave. Amazing what free will does for people.
"The Christians have no right to enter the holy precincts and try to propagate Christianity. It doesn't need it. This blog has absolutely no problem with any Muslim site in Mecca either. It's the home of Islam and I'll put on the cap and take off the shoes any time to respect Islam."
The {insert religion here*} have every 'right' to attempt to attract followers where ever they find them. Next you'll be saying that people of other colors shouldn't be able to meet in the same place.
*except in Islam where it is not only not your 'right' it will be your death if you do it.
Lord Nazh, no one is arguing with your latter point and I'm well enough known here on this blog as so pro-Christian it's tiresome to some.
ReplyDeleteBut this is another matter. It's trespassing on something others consider holy. I always thought Christianity was meant to be a religion of respect.
We need to show it to get it. No worries standing away from the holy place and setting up one's stall. Amyone interferes with that and it's a different battle.
Absolutely agree with you, James.
