Through the eyes of Marie

Frankly, this has to have been the most intriguing reaction video to date imho … and I stress … probably only in my opinion … I explain why below.

The reactor

For many years, girls of this age and look were my bread and butter … all shapes and sizes but all from Year 8 to final year university. Where were the boys? Largely in other faculties, e.g. the sciences … had to smile at this girl’s trouble with tech … she did it all herself … but her strengths were otherwise, as I’ve posted on many times.

One sad thing is her harsh voice, which speaks of way too much, much too young … egged on by the globopsycho narrative and peer pressure … but that’s another topic.

Now a bit of give by me … if you’ve dealt with that sheer number of young ladies, as an ever ageing male, then you must have built in defences and my primary defence became, long ago, to think one of two ways, like a switch on a panel, when encountering the female of the species … either “fair game” and there are plenty in that category … or as a “daughter” type, different other animal altogether.

Roger Moore did that in For Your Eyes Only vis-a-vis Lynne-Holly Johnson whom he told to get dressed and he’d buy her an ice-cream. On the other hand, Carole Bouquet was fair game … and how. As was the countess.

Thus, it was fascinating, in father mode, to follow Centane’s reactions to Marie (Franka Potente) whom I saw as very much fair game. And throughout, she acted, Centane, very much as if she were Marie … felt every fright, faced every decision … even started thinking “we”, together with her beloved Matt Damon. So there I am, following the action, suddenly Centane enters the conversation. It was fascinating.

Plus, being Norwegian, her English American, and being young … she missed the whole Bourne thing while it was around:

On the first, I’d say cut the girl some slack. On the second … you notice she’s added a “like” to the comment? Brrrrrr!

The cuts in this available video

Was there some already precut footage or did Centane do it all herself, inc. the subtitles? Coz if she did, she did a grand job … yes, there were jumps in the action to fit it all in but they were appropriate, unlike that last one Holy Grail.  The only thing is … Centane didn’t really know what was going on … and that was part of the charm.

I loved the Bourne franchise the first three times, loved this opening film, loved the reaction video.
