Much as I liked Suzan Farmer, Annette Andre, Justine Lord, even Sylvia Sims in an early incarnation … the one who did it for me was Anne De Vigier.  Maybe not a great actress, her character in this episode was quite gold-diggery, she didn’t have a lot of screentime, esp. after halfway through … but there was just something amateur and nice about her.

The episode itself was probably rubbish but far worse was the way all these swinging London series of the time, if portraying “young people” … even Gilligan’s did it in the States … made them out to be airheads with awful fashions, dancing to truly awful out of touch middle agers’ ideas of what music was “hip” to the “young”. Frankly, it was embarrassing to see in film or on TV.

We were listening to the later Beatles, Stones, the Who at that point, various American, British Invasion songs, The Animals, Spencer Davis … we were NOT listening to that c**p in this episode.

And as if that were not enough, they tried to cash in on the “Maharishi”, making the mystic out to be a naive, devout holy man … even the Bloody Mues got into it with Search for the Lost Chord. Seriously, that “culture” if you can call it that, was a paisley nightmare, wimpy … aaaagggghhhh!!!!

In fact, this is an awful episode … apart from Josephine at the start.
