a) This Sunday, April 7, the police discovered around 70 kg of cannabis at the family home of the mayor of Avallon, Jamilah Habsaoui. [A supporter of Macron's party.]

Fourteen hours after the first searches, the public prosecutor of Auxerre, Hugues de Phily, who is in charge of the investigations, confirmed the opening of an investigation into drug trafficking in the Morlande district in Avallon. According to the magistrate, 60 kg of cannabis, 983 grams of cocaine, 20 gold bars and more than €7,000 in cash seized by investigators. First assessment of the “Place Net XXL” operation carried out by several gendarmerie units, including the Avallon research brigade, this Sunday April 7, 2024.

Locals there are shocked. A passerby claims that the mayor's entourage has a bad reputation in Avallon. “It doesn’t surprise me, it’s been around her for years. I don't blame her personally, but those around her. His entourage is unfortunately quite well known. It was going to fall eventually.”

b) George Soros thinks it’s good business, and perhaps good politics, to be in your ears.

Over the last two years, Soros Fund Management, the firm founded by the billionaire investor and now controlled by the Open Society Foundations, has become an increasingly key player in the oldest electronic mass media: radio.

In February, the company became the largest shareholder in Audacy, the bankrupt second-largest radio company in the U.S., with more than 230 U.S. stations and a podcast arm that includes Cadence13 and Pineapple Street Studios. In 2022, Soros invested an undisclosed amount in Crooked Media, the liberal podcast network behind the ultra-popular Pod Save America. And a Soros-backed firm played a crucial role in Univision’s $60 million sale in 2022 of 18 Hispanic radio stations to a new firm run by veterans of Democratic politics. The deal, which included conservative Cuban powerhouse broadcasters in Miami, drew opposition from Republican members of Congress.

c) Last week, Public reported that European politicians are waging a disinformation campaign aimed at smearing their political opponents as linked to Russia. The current effort appears related to a disinformation operation by the French military. In February, French military officials claimed that “websites” were promoting “an anti-French narrative.”

d) Crash involving electric car leads to hazmat cleanup. Two minute video of the result of taking a turn too fast.
