Wednesday late matinee

Time for a "boys' own" adventure for the boys*:

* I’ve never really settled on a term for the males at N.O.  Ladies or gals seems fine for the females of the species but I once used “lad” and “lads” for the boys and it did not go down well.  Some baulk at “boys”, some insist on “gentlemen”, some react badly to my “chaps” and “chapesses”.

Personally, I quite like us being seen as “the boys”.

Way too paedo for mine … I skimmed through. Plus post 1980s, they just can’t make movies.

    2. JH: This time, the critics are right (34%) but largely for the wrong reasons.

As for the viewing public … just how far has taste sunk? See Yuri Bezmenov about that.

    4. This was a movie my daughter put on when I was at her house the other night. I was a bit skeptical, never heard of the film so thought it might be another chick flick but it surprised me. I don't know where you get the pedo bit from, the acting was superb and all I saw was a girl, an outcast who had struggled all her life through no fault of her own, one disappointment after the other. Unless I'm naive and missed something, where in the film are the pedos and what does the movie have to do with bad taste? I think you are reading into this things that are not there.

As for post 1980 movies being crap, I think prejudices about new movies tend to be formed with each generation. Crap movies have been around as long as the camera, but as I said, its subjective.
