Friday [geriatric rock]

Simply ran out of time and of politics, will start up on the nasties again tomorrow morning.  Meanwhile, was going to run the Sonics but something else came through and so much of it too.

Bands with older guys, esp. pub bands, are usually pretty good as musos and this is the case with seven songs here I have to whittle down to four.  Why whittle them down?  Because there's a good thing, two good things, three ... but by four it's wearing, five is too much of the same thing.  So I'll need to chose those which have something different, interesting about them. In this one, they can sure play, plus the guitarist looks not unlike me, I'm slightly heavier - someone pointed out that twenty years ago, they wouldn't have bothered closing the door, I like the garage character of this one:

Did I say sign-off?  There was one song I was struggling over, whether to run it or not, and you'll see quickly that it's the bass player at issue, given the political causes we're currently backing.  However, she's the daughter of the guitarist on our right and there's some nice showmanship along the way ... so what the heck, let's run it, they're a local band too:

Just on those guitars, in my 'umble, there's nothing to beat the tone of the hollow, semi-hollow and semi-acoustic with good pick-ups.
