Wednesday [6 to 10]

Are we not having fun?

10.  I do actually know about this issue

Occasionally an issue comes up where I can give it from the horse’s mouth.  I was at such Fabian meetings, at the conferences and at the extraordinarily profligate hot air fests and paper wastage, I was a scrutineer more than once for Labour, all in my early 20s, fresh from university brainwashing.  There were many tales.

I’ve subsequently seen many lowlifes on the Tory side too, the Hooray Henrys at the boat club, even entertained them at our spreads we put on by the pool … but there’s something peculiarly scumbaggy about the soft left or social democrats or left liberals, whatever you wish to call them.  From the Islington set to the rallies, there was always a moral relativism to them, a smug satisfaction in being so Green or so welcoming to deathculters and so on. The Brighton pixie is a prime example - wot, her starve?

Don’t forget I lived and ‘worked’ with these people and things were very morally relativist indeed. Which was primarily why I started the long road to maturity I’m currently about halfway along.

The ACLU has been conspicuously silent about the district's wrongful conduct while encouraging censorship in Loudoun County.  This shouldn't surprise anyone who knows the ACLU's hard-left history.

First, the relevant facts, from Hans Bader, at Liberty Unyielding:

In Virginia, the ACLU did nothing to help parents who were subjected to clearly-unconstitutional censorship in Fairfax County. Instead, it filed a brief in support of censorship in neighboring Loudoun County.

Please don’t feel especially aggrieved by my cutting remarks, I reserve these for the blog dontchaknow and it’s non-discriminatory I assure you - everyone, including moi, gets a spray.  It’s called winning friends and influencing people. 🤣

In all seriousness though, compare many of us to the priest at OoL yesterday and I for one feel humbled.  IMHO, we have a goodly proportion of good people too among our readership and these must despair of me.

9.  Seems reasonable to me

Ontario’s Premier Doug Ford has refused to apologize amid backlash over “demeaning” and “racist” comments about immigrants, having told Canada’s newcomers “go somewhere else” if they plan to “collect the dole and sit around.”
They’re not all like Soy Boy over there then?

8.  Dontcha just detest these smart-alec commenters?

This commenter could not resist:
“ Papa Hemingway, probably in Spain”

He’d have preferred it in the rain, where I believe it falls mainly on the plain.
7.  Did you notice this at t’other place?
“How organs are harvested from THOUSANDS every week for a 'kill to order' market - and why the world is powerless to stop it” @DailyMailAU
Oz does appear to have some reasonable media just now, doing as the media should be doing - doing their bloody job they’re paid to do.

6.  Combine two papers

This one + yesterday’s bowtie = more than reasonable doubt.

  1. In France we have the government thinking of !No booster = No Pass Sanitaire"

"No third dose, no pass? This is one of the avenues envisaged by the government in order to fully launch the recall campaign for the vaccination against Covid-19. Indeed, as recommended by the High Authority of Health (HAS), people at risk as well as those over 65 who were vaccinated more than six months ago, should receive a third dose of vaccine in order to keep their immunity against coronavirus.

But this recall campaign is slipping, as Gabriel Attal, government spokesperson on RTL recalled this Tuesday morning. "Of the 6 million people eligible for the vaccine booster, only two million received the third dose. That's a lot, but it's too little."

Faced with this situation, will the government make the maintenance of the health pass dependent on the recall of the third dose of vaccine? According to BFMTV, the request was made by Jean Castex who was the first to put forward this hypothesis. "The conditions to benefit from the pass are set by the HAS. It is up to them to tell us whether or not we should extend the eligibility of the pass to the third dose? The opinion is requested", explained the Prime Minister on the sidelines of his trip to the Vatican.
