The coming of the rain [will it ever?]

https://youtu.be/cK5G8fPmWeA

All this talk of thunder and heavy rain, I’m thinking yippee, I can get to use my rain pictures at last, it’s been so long.  However, on this 28C day, alas, it ain’t for us oop north:

Yellow warning of thunderstorms

Areas affected: East Midlands | East of England | London & South East England | South West England | Wales | West Midlands

Starts: 20:00 BST on Fri 23 July

Ends: 22:00 BST on Sat 24 July

Heavy rain and thunderstorms may lead to some disruption and flooding.

Still, let that not stop us pretending we have storms and wet stuff and all that and our true love has just dumped us in our penury and sodded off while we sit about composing sad odes to romantic penury:

In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in 1993, John Fogerty said; “That song is really about the impending breakup of Creedence. The imagery is - you can have a bright, beautiful, sunny day and it can be raining at the same time. The band was breaking up. I was reacting: ‘Geez, this is all getting serious right at the time when we should be having a sunny day.’”

  1. Down here in Hertfordshire it's a very oppressive atmosphere, one of those days it's difficult to get a good breath, even thinking of opening the fridge door turns the milk.
