Still Tuesday

All three items are about power trips:

Remember, this was in Berlusconi's rag and it's pure MSM, so talk of majority is hogwash:

Tomorrow afternoon, the President of the Republic will open consultations. Conte has passed the ball to the head of state but is working to create the conditions for a re-appointment, a 'Conte ter' supported by a large majority. It is planned to appeal 'to all moderate and liberal forces which care about the fate of Italy'. In concrete terms, he needs 12-15 senators (as Alessandro Trocino explains). "It is the moment of truth," the premier wrote. Now we will understand whether the resignation of the ministers of Italia Viva was triggered by questions of substance, or whether the goal was another".

2. Rand Paul

I object to this unconstitutional sham of an “impeachment” trial and I will force a vote on whether the Senate can hold a trial of a private citizen.

This may have been an appropriate comment, had it been on the Russiagate farce, the first impeachment, had it been on the refusal of the Supreme and other courts to hear the fraud evidence, had it been at any stage of the proceedings which actually counted ...

But neither he nor any of the other GOP did  that at the right time, they did not raise hell, they rolled over and so did the Donald. He is displaying to the world and to the American people in particular just how impotent and irrelevant they are before the enemy.

In this current system, just as in the UK, the numbers are everything - if you have them, you've won the argument. That's all there is.

3.  The good, the bad and the Karen

This is the tale of two girls within the dental practice, both have been mentioned before.

The first is the Karen in her late 20s, she's been on all the training courses and Someone Above has elevated her above the other girls, she's really Something Special. Therefore I need to know my place as a mere customer compared to her.

My mistake was getting there too early again in these covid times, about twenty minutes early.  We used to buzz and walk in, now we buzz and wait in the cold.   It was 37F or nearly 3C, the lovely one about 23 appeared, smiling, let me in and was all bedside manner. I sat down.

"I'm sorry Mr. Higham,' bossed the Karen from behind perspex, I'm going to have to ask you to leave and come back just before your appointment.  Shock on Miss Smiley's face but Karen was not to be dissuaded, she escorted me to the door - I was expecting a boot up the backside.

Went wandering, was not wearing my warm gear because I thought it was going to be door to door, went in and got a key cut.  Inside - perspex alley.  A shop nearby - no mask, you don't get in.  Shop was closed, locked and bolted.

I came back and buzzed, it was Miss Smiley, she apologised profusely for the treatment [by the Karen], possibly she should not have done that - management [the moneyrakers] would not have been happy.  But I was and she's my mate now.

  1. You've misunderstood Rand Paul's point. The first impeachment was dirty politics but perfectly constitutional. He believes that the second is unconstitooshonull. He may well be right.

You may think it comical, of course, for anyone to argue that a branch of fedgov should not persecute a private citizen by staging an illicit show trial when the Blessed Obama had established the precedent that fedgov can murder any citizen it wants to.
