… most readers from these islands are off to bed or close, I am too, not feeling 💯 either at 2337, the US is still up. Had no intention of watching again … how many dozen times have I watched the clip, yet there it was.

Must have watched twenty reactions, from bros from the American hood to one with two kids to mother daughter, father son … same reaction from all … astounded that that voice came out of that face, plus the manic keyboards, the very old worldly sound, the sheer soul … Eric Burdon was 23 but they sound like older men … so many things have been said.

You can always watch the uninterrupted version … it’s there … but this particular reaction is from an English gal familiar with The Animals, knows EB’s tough background etc. … so that tipped the balance and as Thursdays is when I do this sort of thing, best tonight.

As the gal Beth points out … Newcastle … New Orleans … well all right.  Where I’m going to repeat myself ad nauseam is that while there is music, e.g. classical, which is pure … the quality of each note, the variation, pace etc. crucial … something like this song from popular culture absolutely demands that sort of raw, dissolute voice, old history in the whole feel, plus the manic keyboards going OTT … the whole thing done by a band of English boys in pretty matching suits … it’s quite bizarre. In 1964.

It was noted that they recorded it in the studio in one take … in the video, they were just as much singing and playing but the studio version was what you were hearing … no autotuning or pitch correction … just as it came out.

… plus the weather was too nice, plus reflecting on my mother here, plus reflecting on how difficult it is in 2024 to keep people civil, given the sheer number of issues we can fall out over.

For example, I can say I’m not buying into the Israel Hamas thing and yet it’s the deathcult I’m primarily down on, mainly what they’re doing to our people, esp. females, whilst at the same time knowing that there are very nasty people fomenting trouble and they have stein or gold in their names … the Kabbalah is just as bad as the deathcult.

There’s also the old left versus right divide which is still here … just look at the legacy MSM people still gravitate towards, despite officially dismissing the entire MSM. There’s male-female, old-young, Brit-American … it just goes on and on … it’s a wonder any of us can get along at all.

At least we seem to be agreed here about globo-psycho, the Wokerati, karen types and the political class.

This mother named her baby son Reed. She likes the name but thinks of it as an adult name and finds it difficult to call him by his name. Has she grown up? Does the child stand any chance of growing up? I think we must name the generation born this decade, perhaps Generation Perpetual Infantile.
