Drugs and violence are killing France.

a) Since the peak reached around twenty years ago, the Japan has reduced its crime by three quarters. For example, per 100,000 inhabitants, the rate of violent theft is 1.2 in Japan, compared to 44.3 in France.

Three hundred and twenty times fewer cannabis seizures in one year, 37 times fewer violent thefts, 13 times fewer burglaries. This is the gap between some key French and Japanese crime statistics. The two countries like to compare themselves on multiple subjects. But on this one, although fascinating, studies are rare.

d) Four minors were arrested on Monday April 29, 2024 in Brest (NW France). The culmination of an investigation by the Plabennec gendarmerie brigade after a series of burglaries on the night of March 31 to April 1, 2024 in Plabennec, Plouvien and Bourg-Blanc.

The gendarmerie was notably called in the middle of the night for a violent burglary in Plabennec. A 94-year-old woman was forcefully held in her bed by the thieves while accomplices searched for money and jewellery. That same night, the gendarmes arrested two minors aged 15 and 17 in the area in a car stolen earlier in Brest, which contained gloves, hoods, a crowbar, etc. 

The result -The Judge set them at liberty until the end of May.
