20.  Two problematic items

The first had red flags all over it from the moment I looked but Digger put it less diplomatically. You can't put something as a distinctly probable thing and then say "we've not been able to verify" ... it doesn't work that way, except to undermine the bona fides of the site which carries it.

Plus I can find no corroboration on my first quick look around.

Against that, not everyone is au fait with nor remembers miscreants we've already called out but if it was Charlie Ward linked, then not good.

The second is the peak oil thing. The headline is misleading, the first section is much better, then it puts a Vernon Coleman counterview, using the term peak oil in a quite different way.

The issue is that uttering those two words means two quite different things to different sides. The first part of the Expose article sticks to oil demand being down due to crippling taxation, i.e. there's no end to oil itself being available below ... the issue is govts interfering for Net Zero reasons.

That bit stands up. What Coleman was on about is letting the idea stand that available resources had peaked, which is hotly disputed, doing him no favours if one looks at the other things he subscribes to. Again, is he talking about potential supply below or only about active interference by govt and industry in extracting it? What does he believe about oil "running out"?

It's ambiguous, even misleading. It's poor journalism, though the author does write:

In a 2007 book, Dr. Vernon Coleman explored what happens when the oil runs out, although for different reasons to those explained by The Telegraph.

That was honest enough. But overall, still problematic.

The bigger prob for me personally is that ... what with me already having said I can't blog after 7.30 a.m., that puts me in a dilemma whether to even run those two items again in the first post. Not a good situation. 7.30 a.m. is 7.30 a.m. and I must stop blogging by that time in order to get to my medical thing. And that affects my having to sleep now, not argue peak oil or not.
