Yes, the gîte and garden are getting a bit too much to handle, and are restricting our ability to travel. So if you know anyone who wants to sell a semi in Hounslow and buy a quiet place in the French countryside, do let me know. We're looking, in the area, for what basically equates to our current house and garden, but without the gîte.
There are various agent sites you could point readers to, but www.leshallais.eu is the English language home page for the gîte. We're asking an all-in price (House, gîte, gite furnishings and garden machinery) of 850,000 euro. That's a "turnkey" price with no agent fees. The prices quoted by the agents are €850,000 including agent's fees, but excluding gîte furnishings and garden machinery.

ReplyDeleteJH: On 14 … Woodsy42: 14. Sadly we don't own a semi in Houdslow, and are getting rather too ancient to run an establishment like yours or get a mortgage. But it looks a lovely place and a great opportunity for someone, or as a family business. (If the adult kids and parents bought it together they could do it by selling a couple of UK terraces). It's nearer than I thought to our old holiday home between Gace and L'Aigle so I know how lovely the area is, I still have mixed feelings about our selling that rather than moving there and selling up here but family, health etc....
