I’d like to add something my Ukro-Russian mate said to me in a Skype, shortly after the Russians started their Special Military Operation. He said, “There goes my homeland, it’s going to be totally destroyed.”
Sounds hyperbole and to be fair, the Russian is given to it, with “absolute-no”, “total” and other superlatives quite liberally used but against that, he knows his country. He fought in the Red Army, he’s a product of his geography and his times … I contend he knew full well what must inevitably happen if you take on Russia on its own turf.
The next part comprised two seemingly opposed views. Firstly, he had told me that the Russian word u-krai-enya meant on the edge … krai means edge or border. Thus, the very language regards kievsky russ as the edge of the empire, the wastelands out there, past the resource rich Donbass and moving into Poland.
Thus, our Steve really must keep using (the) before the name, if he has any sympathy whatever for the Russian view. If he has, on the other hand, only total loyalty to the WEF, NATO, CIA, Zelensky, DNC, Biden position, then by all means drop the (the).
The second thing my mate told me was that, though the Russians say u-krai-enya, nevertheless, his country is quite separate and sovereign, with its own language. I’m afraid I read those signs in that Odessa playground and I understood the language. You get an inkling what I’m saying here?
And both Azov ukies and the Russians are firing at their own land, goaded or provoked by the most evil men and women ever to walk this planet. And western normies are happily paying for it whilst they themselves face economic and cultural oblivion. Why? Because the cabal tells them to.

I had, for a few years, a Lithuanian work colleague who also did his time in the Russian army. From him I gleaned that using "The Ukraine" is taken as an insult. What seems to back this up, is in those videos of Ukrainian facist chanting (I have plenty), you never hear them shout "slava THE Ukraine".

Ask him - what about the homeland of those ethnic Russians in Donbas? I suppose he never gave a thought to those throughout the 8 years of relentless shelling of civilians that the good folks of 'his homeland' inflicted. Karma is indeed a bitch.
