    Sextant is a sixth of a circle, uses lenses and mirrors for navigational sun sighting. Astrolabe is a quarter circle, just naked eye.
    Sundial tells the time by shadow.
    Armillary rolls into a sphere when threatened.

  4. Armillary Sphere is a model of solar system showing approximate motion of planets.
    Looks good in corner of one's library.
