Robbo:Sextant is a sixth of a circle, uses lenses and mirrors for navigational sun sighting. Astrolabe is a quarter circle, just naked eye. Sundial tells the time by shadow. Armillary rolls into a sphere when threatened.

Armillary Sphere is a model of solar system showing approximate motion of planets.Looks good in corner of one's library.
Astrolabe is the only one that's a delish Sauv Blanc from South Island.
