Beslan

As 29 people die in the Peruvian bus crash, the spectre also comes around once more of the Sep 1st to 3rd, 2004, Beslan School massacre.

There are two opposed views - firstly that of this monster:

The only surviving attacker, Nur-Pashi Kulayev, claimed that attacking a school and targeting mothers and young children was not merely coincidental, but was deliberately designed for maximum outrage with the purpose of igniting a wider war in the Caucasus.

According to this theory, the attackers hoped that the mostly Orthodox Christian Ossetians would attack their mostly Muslim Ingush and Chechen neighbours to seek revenge, encouraging ethnic and religious hatred and strife throughout the North Caucasus.

North Ossetia and Ingushetia had previously been involved in a brief, but bloody conflict in 1992 over disputed land in the North Ossetian Prigorodny District, leaving an estimated 600 dead and 50,000 displaced.

... and the second image is to the left here, the victims, the dead children and adults.

To give it some perspective and bring it more closely home here, as I've said each year, I was on duty the night our children went to the basketball game I think it was near Canary Wharf when the Fenians claimed to have planted a bomb ... which triggered all sorts of panic by the authorities, not so much by our kids who had sane teachers with them.

What they did not have was instant access to a phone but one of the kids had a new mobile which was just coming into vogue and this girl got a call out to her mother, the mother to the school and kudos to those staff who got them through the cordon and back home.

As I've also said each year, there was a teacher at the school called Brendan and his reaction?  "They had it coming to them."

In his head, the danger our kids had been put in was OK because they were responsible, along with every other British person, for refusing Ireland its natural destiny.  Sad if they had to die, the kids, but couldn't be helped.

He was not fired by the principal of the school, just tut-tutted and threatened that next time it happened ... etc.

Yep, and in a similar way, those primary school kids and infants had it coming, didn't they?

So don't talk to me about Bobby Sands, McGuinness and Adams.  I was also in the bowels of Euston that day of the bomb scare - heaps of fun that was.  Not.

Coming back to Beslan - do they really think they'll get to heaven through their actions, those monsters, instead of to the pits of fiery hell?

Here now, in 2021, Them must be despairing - just what does it take to get a civil war going?  They've tried gay mafia versus normal, they've tried vaxxed and unvaxxed - what next?

  1. Beslan was a terrible outrage. I read some of the reports of what the troops found in the school building, the atrocities perpetrated on the children. That haunted me then and still does.
