Interesting viewpoint from someone who has experienced both sides ...

Famed North Korean defector Yeonmi Park offered a chilling account of her time at Columbia University, saying that not even North Korea went to the level of brainwashing that she witnessed.

Speaking with Fox News, Park became increasingly dismayed with the cost of an education that amounted to little more than what she described as indoctrination.

    6b. In BY Wells' "War Of The Worlds" the aliens were defeated by viruses and bacteria they had no resistance to. Many years before that, native Americans were decimated by the viruses and bacteria brought by European settlers. The same thing happened though, allegedly, to the Australian aborigines tribes because they had no natural resistance to what were mild annoyances to Europeans.
    Now, just imagine an alien race and human beings meeting for the first time. The various disease viruses and germs will think every day is Christmas, or what stands in for Christmas in Alpha Centauri.
    History also shows that the dominant species will, as the term suggests, dominate the other, with catastrophic results.
    Reality is not like Star Trek or Star Wars, where every species breathes the same atmosphere, withstands the same gravitational pull, or uses American phrases, facial expressions or cultural actions. Any contact with an alien species will he interesting, but may also be very brief, for one side or the other.
