Wednesday [3 to 7]

7.  LDS on lockdowns

A new study from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago has analysed the impact of stay-at-home orders on infections and deaths in U.S. states and found they made no difference.

The peer-reviewed study, published in the scientific journal PNAS, found stay-at-home orders (also known as shelter-in-place orders or SIPs) were not associated with lower infections or deaths; furthermore, they were actually associated with a slight increase in infections and deaths, although this was not statistically significant.

3.  More on the Donald

That so-called 'debate' between idiots got to the point in the blurb and let me repeat part of that blurb again:

That sounds very like Trump’s ‘alternative facts’...

Note the language used, revealing the bias of the so-called 'neutral', evenhanded organiser.  Haiku also sent this:

https://www.techdirt.com/articles/20210504/15571046733/trump-shows-why-he-doesnt-need-twitter-facebook-as-he-launches-his-own-twitter-like-microblog.shtml

Guess where I found it?  Yep, in spam, with a notice that it was just like other items marked as spam.  Of course, haiku himself, by mentioned that word Trump in his email, is now also on the watchlist and goes to spam as a matter of course.   The number of times I've had to fish the good haiku out of spam - he should get a rand for every time.

By the way - why was I banned from Twitter?  For questioning Chauvin's guilt.  You read it in black and white - oops, I just mentioned two more words anathema.
