CPAC - I suspect they're going to try it on

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) opens on Thursday in Orlando, Florida, with ousted president Donald Trump its headline speaker, appearing on Sunday in his first public engagement since leaving the White House for Mar-a-Lago a month ago.

This year’s gathering, entitled “America Uncancelled”, is likely to be unusually fraught given that the Republican Party is currently mired in internal conflict following Mr Trump’s election defeat and last month’s US Capitol riot, with pro-Trump loyalists and establishment moderates locked in a feud that could determine its future.

... and not in a disparaging way, given the tone adopted. Which is really off.  What election defeat?  He was not defeated - he romped in. There was a coup d'etat, almost bloodless apart from Ashli Babbit and one other I think, maybe two.

CPAC kicks off a bit later today and if it adopts the tone I expect that 'we fought a good fight but lost', let's forget all the unpleasantness and regroup for the next hurdle' - if it adopts that type of language, and also lets Cheney and Murkowski anywhere near the place, if it acts as if everything is fine and there's nothing we can do except look forward, then there are going to be many among the 74 million or so who are going to be far less than gruntled.

I see a classic rolling out of the UK playbook which says there are only two parties, ignore the Farage/Trump like third party because it would 'split the conservative vote', the same playbook which sucked in every one of my colleagues who voted Tory for that 80 seat majority.  The number of tweets I'm seeing saying 'I voted Tory, believing in them but now I think I've been lied to' - aaaagggghhhh !!!!

Idiots!!!!  Same here if Trump sucks up to Rona whatsit and his betrayers in the hope of 2024.  Does he really think he has a snowball's chance in hell?  Does he think they'll let him win that nomination?  They've already shown their utter disdain for the voter, the GOP.  And how much worse can it get anyway, the usurpers have all three houses.

This is the time of radical measures and nothing less.  Does the Donald not understand this?
