HGF has issued a challenge for us all to come up with a limerick. Let me spice that up a little with a fifteen minute time limit.
This is my first humble entry [please don't laugh it to scorn until I'm well out of range].
'Twas once a famed blogging maid,
Quite shy and a little afraid.
"A limerick? Oh no,
I couldn’t do so,"
Yet finger to keyboard she laid.
This blogger accepted the call
To "set pen to paper" ’n all,
A limerick to write
In the space of one night,
Hoping the thing should not pall.
Her intellect - sharper these days
She applied in particular ways;
By dawn’s early light
Her limerick a sight -
She submitted it to people's gaze.
Go to it rightly and may scallops rock yer tadger!
"There once was a lady from Wales
ReplyDeletewho upped and set off with red sails,
She found a Med isle,
thought "Here I will while
away all the rest of my days."
boom-boom!
Well done but I will pass on the prospect of any scallop being anywhere near my tadger!
ReplyDeleteGot more verses now!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff, Welshcakes - I'll be into it.
ReplyDeleteJams - that's too wise.
haha, well done, James.
ReplyDeleteLike it Welshcakes :)
A blogger by name one James Higham
ReplyDeletemade posts that too often went by 'em
One might well suppose
He could temper his prose
With ideas that might easily fry 'em.
Act in haste, repent at leisure!
ReplyDeleteOn rereading I see that I should have written:
A blogger by name one James Higham
makes posts that too often go by 'em
One might well suppose
He can temper his prose
With ideas that easily fry 'em.
At least now it is a limerick.
HGF - thanks.
ReplyDeleteWilliam - brilliant and it goes straight into my testimonials.
and well done, William!
