The Sexiest Man Over 43 Poll is coming along nicely, thanks, with fifteen entries for ten places thus far [and thank you, ladies, for coming to the rescue on this] ... so now the weeding out begins.
The list was dominated by actors and musicians, lots of them, as Uber said; I capped these at 7 and the remaining 3 were to be from other walks of life. There's even a scientist in there.
The governing rule for inclusion was this - Brad Pitt was in there [David Beckham was too young], therefore anyone else on that list had to have a fighting chance of beating Pitt. Forgive me but Liam Neeson and Donny Osmond won't do that but some of the others might.
Another thing I noticed was the 'nostalgia' factor. Someone suggested Sean Connery but have you seen him lately? Ditto with Harrison Ford and the photo had to have been from the last couple of years.
That poll goes up this Friday.

Re Sean Connery, sexiness isn't just about looks. Not necessarily just what women are looking for anyway. Maybe it is for men.

ReplyDeleteI thought it would be dead easy finding an Italian for the list. Under every keyword imaginable revolving around Italian male/man, there were hundreds of [mainly American and British] female sites with titles like, 'Italian men: why women think they're sexy'.
ReplyDeleteHowever, when it comes to any lists or photos, there are NO Italians on any woman's list. There was a passing mention of DiCaprio on one site but after I'd gone on looking for anyone, just one name, one has to conclude that women don't find Italians sexy at all.
Pity because it would have been good to put an Italian in there.
I also looked for another race, say Asian or Middle-Eastern and nope - no women list any of them either.
As I'm not into men, I can only go on google and that's what it returned. I really did look.

Ladies all - the problem is ten places maximum and in there have to be actors, musicians, sports people, politicians, private people [non-celebs], someone appealing to youth [Pitt] and someone appealing to age, someone appealing to women but don't forget - someone appealing to men.
If there'd been consensus between you on any one candidate, he'd have been in, for example, as there was last time, with Nigella. Sean hasn't aged well and some of his recent antics show this.
