The ever-sublime Bryan Appleyard is torn:
Who would you be for a year? Gordo? Cherie Blair? One half of the McCanns? Mugabe with his opulent monster status? The aging Bill Gates?
Yourself [perhaps with a bit more cash under the belt]?
This woman is an inspiration to us all. She is living as Oprah for one year. I am torn between living as the sublime Richard Madeley or sinking into the dark heart of Elberry. While the first lady wasn't actually shape-shifting into Oprah, still, the principle holds water.

I'm truly happy with my life - though I'd happily accept more cash if you're offering!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be myself for another year and you're all welcome to join me being me.
ReplyDeleteOften I wish I could be someone else just for one day, nevermind a whole year.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit scared of nuns but I often wonder what it would be like to live like they do. To have such a chaste and devoted life - to have real faith in what they do, must be a wonderful thing.
I think I will stick with being me ;-)
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing Richard Madely in his silk pyjamas I am afraid you could never hope to compete with him.
ReplyDeleteI, too, will be myself - with cash!
ReplyDeleteDragonstar - I'll pray that it is long so.
ReplyDeleteRichard - we shall.
Bunny - a nun, eh? Could do worse, girl.
Cherie - I would too.
Richard in silks? And just when did you see this in the flesh, so to speak, DD?
Welshcakes - how much cash?
Can I be 35 again with cash?
