We went to his study for coffee, a jolly room full of books and trophies and untidiness and comfort. I made up my mind that if ever I got rid of this business and had a house of my own I would create just such a room. [John Buchan, Chapter 7, The Dry-fly Fisherman]
Therein lies the theme of this post. What would be your ideal room? My new header for the remainder of the summer is Bilbo Baggin's room at Bag End and the circular windows and doors are quite appealing to me, together with the woody colour scheme I've tried to run through the template.
Let's make this interesting, shall we? Let me challenge you to post a picture, on your own site, of a room which would come close to being very, very liveable for you.
Would you do that and then please provide the link?
Nice room. I was going to ask you what the header was. This may seem a dumb question but aren't there copyright issues if you post, rather than link to, a pic from somewhere else on the net? I've always wondered or is it all ignored because it's so common in blogging? That's real temptation, a button saying "Don't press this!"
ReplyDeleteI do link the pics I need to. The others are public domain. In one or two cases I've had the pic so long I couldn't link and if the person contacts me I'll either gladly link or remove.
ReplyDeletehow can I send you a link of a pic of a perfect room on a spaceship, having coffee whilst straing out at planet earth?
ReplyDeleteA bit late but I just posted on this. A room I can live in is at:

It will probably horrify you!
Went there now, Welshcakes but the link doesn't lead anywhere, sorry - just to a 404 Not Found.
ReplyDeleteSorry about that - it's wo9rking on my post.
ReplyDeleteThis is a subject currently on my mind - I think my perfect room would be the outside one in my garden - I will post a photo when it ever gets finished !!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes
