[tony blair] great peacetime prime minister

I didn't think I'd ever agree with Bob Piper but check this out:

Now, I suppose you can overlook Thatcher's little skirmish in the South Atlantic when talking about wars, but can someone please explain how Tony Blair can be included in a poll of peacetime Prime Ministers!

But the best thing about Bob is that he supports Yorkshire in the Roses so the man's clearly no fool.

  2. That's the best bit about starting or finishing a war. It was peace when you started/finished and war in the middle. You can be a peacetime and a wartime leader.

  3. Isn't it five wars at the moment- I've lost count- but yes he is no peacetime PM. Though I suppose most of those wars haven't been fought like say the Second World War and exacted great stresses- they have been almost comparable to the colonial wars in the 19th Century in tersm of their costs (though not their objectives)- its an interesting point though and one that one can often forget- how aggressive Blair has been.
