  1. What is most notable about most of these regulatory changes is that they do not seem to be designed to target the kind of criminality which concerns the law-abiding member of public.

    This is legislation to criminalise the "middle-classes" or at least keep them eminently busy watching their step.

  4. James, I just read the first piece of that first link you gave me. That law would make me tweak out, if an equivalent was implemented here in the US!!!!! I agree, new laws only affect law abiding citizens, as the criminals never follow laws to begin with.

  5. Well, I don't know that we are really having so many freedoms eroded in the UK: believe me, compared to the bureaucracy we have in Italy, all of this is as nothing!
