[april 23, 303] happy st george's day to you all

For Toque, for Tony Sharp, for Gavin Ayling, for Theo Spark, for the people of England - this day is for all of you. May all your dreams for the nation be realized.

In a very nice post, Paul Kingsnorth addresses some of the issues of this day.

  1. W're celebrating San Giorgio - the very same one - over here too as he is the patron saint of Modica.

  2. I've never met a dragon - well only a very small one so it didn't count - but if I did I wouldn't kill it.

  3. Welshcakes - yes he got around, that boy.

Mutley - your altruism shines like a beacon but I work on the premise - if it moves and breathes fire, stick a lance in it.

  6. People like to celebrate St Edmund's Day in my neck of the woods - he was the patron saint of England until he was usurped by St George, who I don't believe set foot in the UK.
