[u2] bono and the church of england

US Anglican churches have started a trend - using U2 songs in services. Around 150 Episcopal churches have held or plan "U2charists". Money from the collections is donated to charities linked to singer Bono's campaign against poverty and AIDS. Don’t know if this is good, not good – it’s kinda weird.

  1. Our Irish friends are in town for the show tomorrow night. Not great conditions to be putting up their stage, with strong winds and rain. I was surprised how much cash they take in from one concert. 60,000 people times $100 minimum ticket price means takings of at least $6 million. My old boss and his wife were U2 devotees and flew all over the US to see them. They flew to LA for the weekend from Washington DC. Personally I find them dull and repetitive. I wonder what the Christian play list is.
