HGF - I get up about 5.30 a.m. usually, when the sun starts boring into the eye from the skylight. You might suggest, 'Move the bed,' or indeed, 'Change rooms,' but that's too sensible. As for putting an awning over the skylight, that's too intelligent and doesn't fit the image I'm trying to project.
James, I was actually up quite late for me. This hen is an early bird. ;)
I'm 8 hours behind you all; which makes for timing of the Skype chats, across the pond, with my cousin quite annoying. (geesh, where's my gratitude at having a free phone to the UK) ;D
