I shan't be following this sordid affair. What is it about divorces? What makes them so petty and unjust? Such hatred comes out, often from one side. Accepting that he drank and was abusive ... why? Why not kind and loving? Could she have had anything to do with that by some chance?
The alien life form who finds a solution to the war between men and women and patents it will become rich beyond imagining. On the other hand, look at the McCartney history, from the Apple Studios days onwards. All the sycophantic hangers-on trying to fleece them for all they had.
Don't know, some of us just seem poor judges of character when it comes to ourselves. personally.
I think the whole Mills v McCartney divorce is a piece of nonsense.
ReplyDelete£50M, what has she done in the short years they were married to deserve £50M? And why should he give it to her? It's his money, all be it an obscene amount that he probably won't miss but that's not the point. He's worked near 40 years earning that money. She hasn't.
I think that at the end of a marriage, people should walk away with what they came in with. No more, no less. Any properties/other assets bought as a couple should be sold off and the profits split 50/50.

ReplyDeleteIt's just common sense. I just don't understand how anyone can think they deserve to walk away with that kind (or any kind) of money.
If it were her millions he was after I suspect it would an entirely different story. I hardly suspect she would be willing to divvy it up for him.
It's just spite and pure greed.

Oh dear, here I am agreeing! I don't see why anyone should expect to walk away with money they didn't earn themselves. And that woman in particuloar is so greedy. But our dear ex-Beatle didn't think his money and fame weren't part of the attraction for such a female?? Love is blind.
