  2. Every generation of a family has a fresh chance to be functional, Welshcakes. William seems a sensible guy - not difficult by comparison with his barking mad Dad.

    I need to believe that they are not doomed by their heredity; not even to their life of cloistered privilege. He has the free will to be Free Will if he wants. I would not have blamed him if he had exercised it in favour of Kate, as his father should have done in favour of Camilla the first time.
