I did. Surprised you couldn't find any bible blood curdling bits to put in the nasty section...
wondering what or who is going to be so entertaining in tomorrows blogfocus :-) :-)
Well I did too. I felt I should be taking notes, even to make a comment. After reading the other comments I just kept my head down.Just one thing, I could not be a believer in any religion that admonished me to kill the non believer or heretic, which all three have at one time or another. After all as long as someone is alive he can change his mind, be converted, repent or whatever. Kill him and he can't and you are being his judge which only God should be.I'm looking forward to blogfocus tomorrow too.
JMB - point me to one passage anywhere in the New Testament which exhorts believers to kill non-believers. Only two of the major mono-theistic religions do that sort of thing.
Shades - it wasn't for want of trying to find such passages but the New Testament is pretty tame that way.Sally - you'll see.
Ok James, you are right, it's wrong interpretation by the followers of Christianity which resulted in the killing of non-believers or heretics during different periods of time in history. I was thinking of what Christians did rather than the teachings of the New Testament itself.
I did, too, but I didn't think I could make a sensible comment last night, being rather g-&t'd. Now I will reread and try.
JMB - :)Welshcakes - you've got your priorities completely right. Yo!
