There is no sandbag but he did trip over the microphone PA box at its base. Video from a different angle, watch the small PIP at the bottom right and keep your eyes on sleepy joe's feet

13.  I saw this in passing

... but there was no name on it:

Never used to take much notice of flowers when life was busy with work and kids etc. But now retired I love to watch the garden as it changes through the seasons. Our garden is semi wild, home to loads of self seeded or self spreading native plants as well as deliberate plantings. Starts in late winter with snowdrops, then daffs, then bluebells, then the forget-me-nots, agualegias. honesty and stuff (some tiny wild flowers almost invisible from a distance) takes over. Damsons are one of the earlier trees to flower but now the cherry, apples and lilac blossoms are about finished, but the laburnam is the densest and most vibrant yellow I can remember, the red hawthorn is full of blossom and the red poppies are spectacular. Every year is a bit different as different species have good or bad years. Some like cold winters, some like warmer, there are wet springs or drier springs etc which the plants react differently to. It's fascinating to watch how much, and how quickly it changes - an exceptionally hot or cold couple of days can end one set of blossom or start another.

Oh can't you lot take anything seriously these days? 😎

This guy needs to learn to spell ... wither indeed!  Horses have those, plus old men.

Think all our fathers, and our mums didn't have it easy either. So this lot can F right off, excuse my French. And this lot:

  1. 13. Here the Mimosa trees are first to flower in February. The are covered with a tiny yellow little puffballs. There is a Mimosa Festival on the Ile d'Oleran each early February where (because of no frost, the island is inly a few metres above the sea) the trees flower several weeks earlier than here. I live approximately 100 km inland.

    2. Thanks for the heads-up on the Mimosa - makes me sneeze so I know now to keep away in Feb though there are some good little eateries on the Ile or maybe were as so many small businesses are closing.

  2. Sorry James, the garden comment wuz me. Usually I have to log into Google every time, then sometimes it tells me I have logged in and am commenting with my Google ID but actually they are lying - the ID doesn't carry through to the comment so it still flags as anonymous. Woodsy42

    2. But how do all these bushes know that the following winter will be a hard one?
Just at the moment here in The Lothians cloots can definitely be cast. The may, hawthorn bloom, is so thick the branches are sagging. And if every flower produces a berry the branches will be covered in a glorious red feast for birds.

Be careful with your observations about how nice the weather is just now:

Mimosa’s were prevalent down here when I was a child. They were fun to climb. More fun were the powderpuff blossoms! My playmates and I would pick our own puffs and dab ourselves with them pretending we were at a vanity preening like fancy ladies.

Mimosa is not a bad sippy drink every now and then either! Cuddles fixes those sometimes if we have a Christmas brunch, which we usually do have.

Merry Christmas to all and to all….hic!
