Wednesday [12 and 13]

Afternoon all.

13.  En passant

Vox:

If the Turkish earthquakes were the unnatural results of a geophysic strike, one assumes that any last Russian doubts about the wisdom of bringing the war in Ukraine to a rapid end have been settled. Or perhaps this is just more fog of war being spread about by one of Clown World’s leading media organs. We’ll find out soon enough.

  1. I saw a headline, maybe the Grauniad, saying that a father has been found guilty of killing his daughter by allowing her to become obese. What would have been the outcry had he starved her or forced medical procedures on her? This is a very bad verdict and really should be overturned.

    1. Depends if the kid was a minor and whether father was feeding her crap knowingly or if it was some sort of neglect. If she was a 30 year old stuffing her face then that would be bonkers. Need more details.

    2. AFAIK she was disabled. If that's the case, she was neglected by the parent (carer) regardless of age.

    3. Found the report now. Sorry Andy but that father (and her mother) deserves hanging. She was 16, disabled and hadn't been out of her room in months. Father's excuse "I'm lazy".

  2. A tale about the Nord Stream Pipeline

"The New York Times called it a “mystery,” but the United States executed a covert sea operation that was kept secret—until now"

  3. Alleged unrest amongst the French farmers. They reckon they are not being paid enough for eggs. Just a coincidence, natch, given what is happening with egg supplies elsewhere. Also since lecky price hike from 1st Feb, our usual brand of organic butter has gone up in price by 1€ per 250 gm packet. Other increases evident in shopping bill but that was the biggest jump in human fodder. Usual brand of dog food gone up by a whacking 20€ per 12kg sack. No rhyme or reason for the last one except Wefers are trying to dissuade us from owning pets.

    We shall overcome.

  4. If this South front article is to be believed, it makes the actions of the US/UK 'elites' in the ukraine even more disgusting and reprehensible:

  5. Include in that, 2 to 7 year olds in Izium, as a report from Wagner soldiers revealed last week.

  6. Just a bit to lighten up the evening. When the Russians withdrew from Kherson they took (rescued?) a racoon from Kherson Zoo (there was a poll and his name is Kherson). There were other animals too, including a donkey but the racoon has become famous. He is now the airborne mascot, sleeps in an ammo bag and does humanitarian work. He has his own Telegram channel and is charming all the ladies.
