Knitting too

The first was how to knit from scratch, this one is choosing a style later.  There are two core styles - plain and purl and for purl, there'll need to be a different YT.  There's nothing spurious in this ... I was taught these things in 6th form, year, grade by an enlightened man who was otherwise trad.  Boys were taught cooking too, girls the internal combustion engine and basic car care.

The trad roles applied too but there were some of the other short courses.

Oh, this is fun! I love knitting. I have 18 drawers and about 7 boxes of wool. Mostly I knit socks though... and once I was the only woman at a clay pigeon shoot (not shooting, just visiting) and took my sock knitting along. I was amazed at the number of men to came up to me and said, "I used to knit socks..."

Just as well they didn't, as I'm one of those people who hates be under pressure when being creative. I mainly knit while watching films (we don't have a TV - threw that out 15 years ago - but we have hundreds of dvds). I have a few socks that are waiting for good homes though.

    3. JH: I’ve two pairs of thick knitted socks here, purl and plain, (in each sock I mean). My mother was a knitter, liked doing bulky cable stitch jumpers.

  2. JH: What a pity the commenter mentioning Madame Defarge did not put a moniker in the comment. Sadly, I’m bound by readers to the rule.

Comments need a moniker of your choosing before or after ... no moniker, not posted, sorry.
