The ONS was asked to provide the numbers of deaths purely from Covid with no other underlying causes.  The figures are stark and will surprise many. Just 9,400 in 2020.  In 2021, just 7971 deaths until the end of quarter three.

This is a screenshot of the post taken down by Blgr today.  What fun.  I looked carefully through it to find the offending bit, because of course they never tell you, they just say community guidelines and the whole thing comes down.

However, I did notice something where I did insult a longsuffering employee whose job it is to take down my posts at whim.  Poor gal - heart bleeds.

    "The figures are stark and will surprise many": well they don't surprise me. It's obvious that Covid kills largely by accelerating the death of people who are already old and ill. That it did that in the Spring of 2020 is obvious from the graph of excess deaths - no need to worry about whatever the death certificate said or didn't say.

    It may be that much the same is true of flu - it kills the already ill, though flu also kills infants whereas Covid doesn't.

      dearieme - put this together with Hancock and Whitty's shenanigans with Midazolam and Morphene. It says most of them were over 65, it doesn't say how many were in care homes. Those two dots join very nicely for me. Makes me wonder if the virus was as widespread as we were told and to what extent flu played a part. Don't forget that there were zero flu cases recorded in 2020/21, so how many of those annual flu deaths were attributed to covid?
