Wednesday [14 to 16]

16.  DR

a.  Clue in the title.

A couple of thoughts on this. If shipping is indeed restricted then I don't buy the reason they're giving here. A few days ago there was a report that BBC reporters were being sought by the CCP because of their report on those two dams breaking upstream of the 3-gorges. Also a typhoon had hit. There are some possible dots to join here, methinks, though not sure exactly what. Could be the 3-gorges has gone or just some entity or entities have an interest in stopping shipping - good or bad.

b.  More on Cuomo. The left starting to eat their own.

They aren't going anywhere with the investigation into nursing home deaths attributed to Cuomo's policy of putting cv19 patients into care homes so this looks like plan B.

15.  DAD in France

Another clusterfck in France.

He is one of those people who have already had Covid are immune. But the evidence has been erased in the name of personal data protection.

Entangled. This is the word Dominique uses to describe the situation he found himself in with the generalization of the health pass.
To get his health pass, all he has to do is collect the QR-Code which proves it, on the sidep-gouv.fr portal. At least in theory. "In practice, I made inquiries with the TousAntiCovid assistance and the Deux-Sèvres primary health insurance fund. Data is available for three months and not beyond. "

This means that the data that Dominique needed to obtain a QR-code had been erased on June 20. Long before there was any question of a health pass. When Emmanuel Macron announced the pass's entry into force on July 12, it was too late to get anything back.
"The QR Code can no longer be created beyond" At the Deux-Sèvres Primary Health Insurance Fund, we recognize the problem. The QR-code in question is generated from Si-DEP, a secure platform where the results of Covid tests are systematically recorded.

But in the name of the law on the protection of personal data, everything is erased after three months: "The QR-code can not be created beyond that. "

On July 21, an amendment was passed in the National Assembly to extend the lifespan from three to six months. But the law remains suspended for consideration by the Constitutional Council on Thursday (August 5th). And in any case, it would not be retroactive: for Dominique, it is too late.

14.  Haiku report on South Africa

A proliferation of pirate attacks in the Gulf of Guinea, an expanse of the Atlantic Ocean stretching from Senegal to Angola, is driving a security-boat building boom in South Africa.

Paramount Maritime Holdings, a unit of Africa’s biggest privately owned arms-maker, Paramount Group, says it has largely cornered the market for patrol and escort vessels used in the waters offshore Nigeria and neighbouring states. The company currently has 26 boats with a total price tag of about $60 million under construction in Cape Town.

“We pioneered the security patrol market in West Africa,” Stuart McVitty, chief executive officer of Paramount Maritime, said in an interview. “We’ve seen steady growth over the last five to six years.”
[Now, how can we put this delicately?  It's true that the history of Europe is a bloody one and we can extend that to European nations in the Antipodes, Canada, the US - that is true.  There were two world wars not involving Africans per se, though the Asians got in on it.

And there were pirates along the Spanish Main.

Piracy though, of the African and death cult kind, plus the sort of thing in South Africa is becoming a special problem, also in the South-East Asian seas.  We don't really get that around the shores in North America, nor the Antipodes but we do get it in the UK - constant illegals across the water, adided and abetted by the RNLI.]

  1. Re my report above. Whilst I was out for my walk I had a 'light-bulb' moment.

What if we, who are unvaxxed, claim that we, too, have had the virus and tested positive last winter. The authorities cannot prove that we did not as the info has been erased and (if the young man mentioned in the report is given his QR code) would have to issue us with a Pass Sanitaire code.

Or would they, by some miraculous means, find that the data has not, in fact, been erased?
