a.  Slightly altered approach to tweets: Tweets as you know, mainly from DR, are over at NOWP:

When I linked tweet urls here to view, formerly in a list, you’d have to multiple click cold, unseen, to view all.  If however I now link the NOWP comments url, it takes you straight to all tweets for that timeframe, letting you decide which to follow up, which not, rather than I decide for you.  My mid-tech let’s me run summaries though, as in Wed [1] below.

There’s another thing.  If from the ipad, I can’t format more than simply - plain/compose, compose/html - which I can do from the laptop.  Let’s run with this system and readers can then maybe tell me which is better.  

Also, running summaries [below], instead of a bank of [graphics unseen] tweet urls helps those who aren’t on and who refuse to go on Twitter. When finally booted at the laptop [two minutes], I can then fine tweak the posts here.

b.  Booting, which for me is from the moment I click on the power button until I can finally add to a post I measured today - 11 minutes [many manually entered passwords, slow process].  

What it means is that it's far easier to post something quickly on the ipad with almost no formatting.  It also explains why, when the boys drop things after about 10:30 p.m. BST, odds are I'm in bed, about to finally zonk, and the ipad is all I have. To go to the laptop where I am involves getting up, going through the booting process again and then blogging.

Why not leave the laptop on 'sleep'?  I do but I also have it set so that after a certain time, it goes back to shutdown.  Which involves ... etc.

c.  Better to double up, due to sleepiness, tech glitch or whatever, in subsequent post sections, than not to post at all.

Guido Fawkes reminds us today that over 1,200 so-called experts signed ‘the Declaration’ – cooked up by the same people behind the John Snow Memorandum – warning of the terrible effect easing coronavirus restrictions on July 19th would have. The Declaration originally took the form of a letter in the Lancet, published on July 7th, in which 120 self-described ‘scientists’, many of them members of Independent SAGE, described ‘Freedom Day’ as “dangerous and premature”. 

They cited the SAGE modelling showing there would be 100,000 new Covid cases a day if the Government went ahead its plans and set out the dire consequences for Britain and the rest of the world. “We believe the Government is embarking on a dangerous and unethical experiment, and we call on it to pause plans to abandon mitigations on July 19th, 2021,” they wrote.
