Crossing the Water

Right from the start, I thought what on earth is this all about?  The main character is as obnoxious as I can be but that's nothing compared to the others.  It was only later, reflecting, that I saw just how good it had been and there's a quite risque bit where he coaxes his ex-wife out onto a balcony by mimicking her noises when she is, so to speak, in full romantic flight.  That joke is reprised right at the end.
