6. Other bits and pieces this Tuesday morning
[i] Why does NASA lie to us?
[ii] The internet has surely improved our understanding of the greater world around us, however the downside is in what this lady has to say: Blake Lively Gives Emotional Speech on Child Pornography:
[I didn't sit right through it, she rambles, seemed to be saying it was a bad thing, and yet I do recall that many big-wigs in anti-child-porn projects were simply sourcing supply for their mates and them. There is some [alleged] thought of Gates in this context but we need more proof before running with that one.]
b. DR news:
[i] "Queen Elizabeth II’s Cousin Accused Of Using Royal Status To Sell Connections To Vladimir Putin"
Colour me unsurprised - a lot of 'em do it [allegedly] but don't always get caught.
[ii] "Doc writes fake obituary to mock people who won't take the jab. He takes the jab and dies".
[iii] Screen shot of Hermann Goering quote worth a gander, imo:
They want us to believe this child abuser got the most votes in American history" short video.
[iv] Clue in the title somewhere...
Scientists propose? In other words they have no clue.
[If we sometimes overlap and run something twice, that's sad but it's just been run twice, ok?]
There's a disconnect between the post heading and what appears in the sidebar heading for each post. Fascinating how one is caught out. Yes, it's so that I wrote that gadget in the sense that I cobbled together code from sources, then streamlined it - it works well and is protected by the Blogger umbrella. It does have implications for OoL as well. It's a better gadget than any other currently available because it's less complex.
What I failed to do was overcome the Blogger penchant for leaving the permalink as is, whereas WP, if you change the heading, changes the permalink too [desirable to alter it in my eyes]. I'm sure there's a way around it but I've not the time to explore. It would involve inserting some simple code, simple for a techie but I fear b*gg**ing up the CSS sheet. I'm an advanced user, not a techie. Plus I must play fair with the Blogger tech dept.
Long and short is we have to put up with weird headings in the sidebar for now. for example, yesterday's Monday 5 was in the wrong place. Wanna know why? Because Blogger deleted decided to self-publish, whereas I'd left it as draft. blogger has a revisions procedure and in this case, it was over-zealous. Result - it posted 5 as 1 and would not alter it.
By the way, you Blogger bloggers reading this - there is a way around it. You go in, copy html to Word or Libre [the railway siding], delete the post entirely, start a new post, paste the html, Bob's your uncle. aligns in the sidebar too. except most chaps and chapesses don't run comments as I do. That's it.
