Tuesday [12 to 14]

14.  Seems to be a problem with this one

Removed for now.

13.  I don't trust the bstds one little bit

  • Boris Johnson has vowed to introduce a 'lifetime skills guarantee' to help people upgrade qualifications
  • The radical plan is among a range of 'levelling up' measures in the government's legislative programme
  • Asylum overhaul, planning reforms and total ban on online junk food adverts also in the government package
12.  A cautionary tale

It's domestic day, when the jobs get done.  So there I was, flinging bits of food from A to B, all over the place, then went to start the vacuuming.

Came to the sink to wash up the cooking things, usually wear boat shoes, was in feet, one foot suddenly went into something squelchy.

Pukey McVomit.

I slowly looked down.

Sponge scourer.

Any ... er ... tales you have to tell?

  2. 12. My boiler conked out a few weeks ago, fortunately I have a stove downstairs and a nice duvet upstairs. The boiler is now fixed, so I can get on with the laundry, hand washing because the washing machine conked out yonks ago. I had decided to sling some money at the kitchen and have a washing machine properly plumbed in. Then along came house arrest. Kitchen plans on hold. The chap making replacement sash windows still hasn't got on to it, I paid half up front in January 2020. Apart from all that I now have my central heating chunking away, no stove to clean out every morning. Hot showers, no boiling kettles to do the washing up. Life wasn't so bad without those comforts but it is nice to have them back. So today is nice, tomorrow should still be fair but what of the outlook?

  5. Lifetime skills guarantee? Here in France I'm obliged to pay each month into a personal training fund that I can then beg the government to get back if I spend it on a training course. Like I can't decide for myself what training I want.
