My only comment is on Sloggy but that will be in the third post.

1.  Eggs all alone

Now I know what y'all busting to attack me on - yep, why no butter on the toast?  Why no bangers?

Well firstly, there is butter, it's on the second piece of toast to have with the coffee.  And bangers?  Weeelll, I just ran out, dinn I, and have to go shopping.  There's cheese in the egg and creme fraiche in the mash.  Plus the tomato can be loaded onto the toast.

Now to the real reason.  Was woken from afar by an absolute honey, stumbled around, went to pour myself water, cargo shorts fell down to my ankles. Now either they've expanded in the heat or else ... dot dot dot.

Vanity therefore dictated that I have only half the butter today, steam food and not fry it.

Your exciting culinary adventures at the mo?

  1. Sardines on toast for lunch today. Dinner last night was lamb kebabs - mildly disappointing as the rather expensive lamb was tender but not very flavoursome. Will change supplier.

On Saturday we had carbonara à la my wife. Bacon and leeks are prominent in the dish - delish. Dinner tonight has not yet been declared.

  2. A sausage roll and coffee in the park. Not quite a culinary delight, but sunshine and lots of cheerful people around made it so. The sausage roll was home-made and excellent - that helped too.

  3. breakfast was marmite on toast! delicious, but am on my last jar and the local shops have none left (Pubs closed -> Brewers not brewing -> no yeast extracts). It's not just drinkers who are affected!

  4. Crema Mexicana is a good substitute for creme fraiche here. Goes good in the omelettes.
