International Day of Women

Today is International Women's Day and my thoughts are here. They're long. Better I prefer this simple statement by Nunyaax:

As much as a source of frustration men can be and likewise women, I'm all for the recognition men do deserve. The age old saying , you can't live with them but sure as hell can't live without them either. Yes women and men maybe equal but we are not the same, I believe there is many things you can get from man, excluding breeding , that women just cannot provide.

By the way, her post shows that there is indeed an International Men's Day. Never knew that. The Soviet February 23rd is not exactly the same thing.

To the women, those I adore and even those I don't, of course men must try to stop the abuses your sisters suffer but as friends, not as the enemy. What's the point on standing on rights if one half of humanity won't listen? Work with us, not against us.

To my mates - hey, you're sick to death of these posts on women but just this weekend, suspend any little niggles and tune yourself into her - she might not be expecting it. Shower her with attention and give her what she wants. Hell, it's just one weekend - go out on a limb and work her all weekend.

Or else phone your ex and suddenly go soft on her. Sudden, strange surrenders.

Whatever. We'll get back together for a beer on Monday.

  1. Let us all do the same for the man/men in our lives. As for phoning the ex, unless you want to get back with them they are exes for a reason.

  2. James.
I have some serious advice for you.
    Listen carefully.

1)Take a large slug of Bromide 3 times per day.

2)purchase a steel chastity belt, and affix each morning.
a)Post key to yourself each morning to arrive the following morning.
b)Use registered mail, and retain the evidence.

3)Cease breaking written and unwritten societal rules
a)All it needs is an accusation, - not evidence, just words.
b)Manacled to the ceiling with razor blades, (or worse) applied with vigour and enthusiasm to your testicles, by an aggrieved party.

4)Get the fuck out of that estrogen charged atmosphere, - move your ass.
a)There is no way you can compete with female game plans and innuendos
b)Local protective males/authorities will believe whatever they are told.
    c)You are the outlander!

5)Move your ass, and assets, forthwith, - no forwarding address.

6)Look around the world. Everything is falling apart faster than anyone can see, other than for those who can see, that is. Folks will need a fall guy.

  3. Very few feminists ever wanted to work "against " men, James. I keep telling you most of us actually love men! The word "surrender" here says it all.
We just want to be treated as "subject, not object" as de Beauvoir said. She also said of Sartre that she could have arranged to meet him in a year's time at 7pm at Montparnasse metro and know he'd be there. Now that's the sort of man most of us would want - and all the better if he is standing there with an armful of flowers!

  4. And don't listen to welsh ex-school-teachers, either.
They are from a different era, different ethos, different morality.

  5. Work with us, not against us.

Vice versa. As long as the goals are the same there is no problem.

  7. Anon, I've had enough! I'm not that bloody old! And morality is morality and should be the same for all. Why are you so aggressive?

  8. Anon - I read your advice and bear it in mind but don't be so rough on my visitors, old son. You can say what you like to me and you'll get it back. :)

Welshcakes - that's the rough and tumble - don't worry about it. It's just a blog, after all. Think I'd better watch what I say about the Feminists from now on but I do think we're making progress and some sort of understanding has been struck up this weekend.

    That has to be great.

Nunyaa, JMB - thanks - bears thinking about.

    That's entirely my point.

It's not the same for all.

Would you behave like the younguns today?
Did you behave like the younguns do today when you were their age?

    Don't be so bloody daft.
