[thought for the day] monday evening

I follow the scent and get excited and once on the scent, I cannot be called off it.  It is ... how shall I call it ... a passion for getting at the truth.  In all the world, there is nothing so curious and so interesting and so beautiful as truth.

[Hercule Poirot, 1934]

  3. Yes indeed:

"M. Poirot walked unheeded along his grove by saddened angels, crosses, broken pillars, family vaults, stone hopes praying with upcast eyes, old Belgium's hearts and hands. More sensible to spend the money on some charity for the living. Pray for the repose of the soul of Mr. Bloom. Does anybody really?"
