[good news week] hope the recession continues

We have a Morrisons just down from us. There's an ASDA too so I'm going down there on my bike to check them out:

Wm Morrison Supermarkets is cutting the price on 4,000 products as grocers step up the battle to attract shoppers hit by the economic downturn.

  1. Price wars will soon be fought by militias.

  2. My parents have always said Morrisons are the best, so with that announcement things can only get better!

  3. Morrisons are better for freshness and quality, all nicely presented. Asda is cheaper. I find the difference in both similar to shopping for clothes at Marks and Sparks as opposed to a Jumble Sale.

I go to both shops - get my fresh stuff at Morrisons and anything in a tin or a packet from Asda and I save money by doing this.

  4. We shop at Tescos but I find them over priced and useless. We do not have a Morrissons or Asda in our area but I wish we did.
Our choices are Tescos or Sainsburys.

  5. The frozen lamb at Iceland is very good value. Aldi is good for leeks, peppers, shortbread, crisps and olive oil. That's much of your dietary needs covered.

  6. I like Sainsbury's in my home town because it's always quiet in there (not many shoppers).
It's a good think from my point of view but not from Sainsbury's I presume!

  7. I've no idea why, but the milk at the Co-op is easily the best. Well worth another couple of p.

  8. Dearieme,

    Probably better pasteurisation processes.

Pardon me - I was talking shop.

  9. That was fascinating. We have all of those within a range but you need a car for Tescos.

I'm going to check Morrison's out a bit more.

  10. James,

If you want a good cheap steak hang around the meat display in the last half hour of business.
