[discrimination] all right when they do it, isn't it

Andrew Allison:

If a child can no longer talk about heaven and hell and her mother cannot ask her friends to pray for the school without the risk of losing her job, sacred rights and freedoms have been lost.

Amen, brother.

  3. Yes our freedoms are being eroded away bit by bit, but most people don't seem to notice!

  4. It just saddens me that so many of you guys, our cousins across the pond, are getting onslaught after onslaught of PC and there's nothing you can do but watch your society being burned down around you all. I weep for all Britons!

  5. Just to add a little balance here:

    1) The pupil in question got into trouble for causing another girl to burst into tears - not simply talking about heaven and hell.

    2) Her mother is being investigated for making claims against the school and its staff - nothing to do with prayer.

    3) A number of local Christians have come out in support of the school.

So the girl got into trouble because someone's feelings were hurt; and you think this makes it better how?

    2) being investigated: you do realize what that phrase means no?

    3) And yet a number of Christians have come out in support of the Mother and Daughter

  8. Lord Nazh,

    1) If a child goes around making other pupils burst into tears then I imagine most people would want the teachers to step in and do something.

    2) The school appear to be looking into whether the woman is fit to continue in her job there - if she's peddling distorted versions of what happened, to the detriment of the school, then the answer would seem to be no.

    3) True. But it looks as if those closest to events, who know those involved, are siding with the school.

  10. PC we might be but we still manage to sneer at christian fundamentalists unlike the USA where presidential candidates daren't admit to being sane and non-religious.

About the only thing Blair got right was the fact we english just don't do god ... our national church is founded on the idea of signing up to some waffle but not actual enquiring into people's beliefs.

Even Blair knew that professing that religion was so important to him he had to choose a nutcase fundamentalist sect (the left-footers) would have resulted in a revolution that he tried to hide the fact he was a nutter while he was in office.

I see nothing wrong with riddiculing and excluding people so weakminded they have "faith". I'm neutral on whether we should exterminate them to strengthen the gene pool.
