It would be nice if he were eligible but he's not. It would be nice if he wasn't beholden to forces who are going to rip America apart but he is. It would be lovely if he were the messiah but he's not.
It would be lovely if we were all prosperous again but I'm not holding my breath. However, hope springs eternal.

ReplyDeleteNo, Dearieme the man officiating was apparenteeeely an epileptic who has petit mal seizures when under stress and he messed up some of the wording of the swearing in. Having studied the wording, Obama repeated it in proper sequence instead of copying the officiators errors.

I did watch the inauguration and I am not frightened to tell you I had a tear in my eye. It was not for Obama. It was for the way Americans hand over power in such a symbolic and moving way. This inauguration was the culmination of a long campaign. Constrast this to Britain where we have a unelected prime minister who has a de facto deputy who has returned to British politics by virtue of becoming a peer of the realm. Which country is democratic?
