[salmonella] we know why but it doesn't matter

You remember that recent salmonella outbreak, where tomatoes were blamed?

You know - where the USFDA banned them and stores pulled tomatoes from the shelves? Well, the FDA has now decided that they are fine but are still not ruling out that they might not be fine.

So why would they lift the ban if they're not sure?

However, FDA and CDC officials have not absolved tomatoes as a possible cause of the outbreak and are considering the possibility that both tomatoes and jalapeƱos have spread Salmonella saintpaul.

Could there be a reason for doing this prematurely?

Sorry but how the f**k do Tomatoes spread salmonella?

They are fruits

I do wonder why salmonella causes all this fuss - it's not as though it kills anyone who isn't nearly dead anyway.

Something like 200+ people got sick; tomatoes were blamed and a 1 billion dollar industry was sidelined...

makes sense no?
